State Street Global Exchange's Data Solutions team is seeking a versatile individual with strong business systems and data analysis skills for development and support of GX Data Solutions services and product offerings. The successful candidate must possess skill in complex business data analysis with expertise in functional requirements gathering and documentation; excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; a proven ability to liaise between business/implementation and technology teams; and strong collaboration skills. This role is part of broader DataGX client implementation team.

Role Specifics:
  • Support individual client implementation efforts (80% of activity)
    • Work with the wider Data GX project team and Project Manager to help establish project delivery plans and delivery estimates.
    • Provide analysis and advice to clients (internal and external) on current and future state data-centric operating models
    • Liaise with clients in order to establish and document implementation requirements, develop "use cases" to document requirements
    • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the Data GX offering to perform subject matter expert activities, consultancy, implementation configuration and demonstrations
    • Analyze and document data mappings from source systems to the Data GX solution and onward data outputs for client implementations
    • Ongoing requirements analysis to align client expectations, requests are within the application framework
    • Analyze and document any derivation, workflow and enrichment required within the Data GX solution for client implementations
    • Implement State Street's DataGX managed service offering, in collaboration with core DataGX "Component Factory" team
    • Support internal and client testing activities prior to "go live" date and immediate post-production transition with the support of test plan development and test scripts
    • Help manage project to time and cost objectives
  • Support on-going enhancements to scope of services for existing clients as needed
  • Play significant role in contributing input on EMEA-specific product requirements working closely with the global DataGX teams (for specific client or to close product gaps) and enlist DataGX Product support as related to:
    • In-bound and out-bound system feeds
    • Data models
    • Data marts
    • Product technical documentation
  • Play a significant role in contributing input on overall DataGX product enhancements and requirements working closely with the global DataGX product teams, including:
    • Product functionality
    • Technology architecture
    • Competitive positioning
    • Internal and external feed requirements
  • Support and consult the team in requirement gathering, development, definition and controlling of technical standards and methodologies
  • Process design and implement solution architectures and concepts in the context of projects and client implementations
  • Execute on Proof of Concept projects for prospects and demonstrations as needed through the sales process
  • Collaborate with other DataGX implementation team members to share best practices, raise issues, develop consistent global processes
  • Create common and shared standards across peer group by implementing best practices
  • Consolidate application design for global strategic model
  • Apply functional business knowledge to system roadmap and be part of agreeing future enhancements / development activities

  • University degree in the field of computer science, data management or other technical field
  • An advanced degree in one these fields is a plus, as is CFA designation
  • A number of years of strong experience with data management systems within Financial Services
  • Previous experience implementing software or data services
  • Agile development process and expertise
  • Technical knowledge of running SQL, Squirrel across data architecture
  • Knowledge and experience of multi-tenancy architecture and complex system architecture
  • Knowledge of ETL and data transformation
  • Knowledge of job schedulers such as Autosys
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Service Platform (ESP) a plus
  • Knowledge of State Street and its technology architecture a plus
  • Strong team ethics and team player
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) both internally and with client/prospects
  • Solutions / client service orientation with focus and desire to deliver high quality client solutions
  • Clear understanding of investment data and aspects of investment process
  • Strong analytical and planning skills
  • Knowledge and working experience of SQL, Oracle, Toad, Squirrel, EDM and ETL are all an advantage
