Are you a problem solver? Do you love creating models in Excel? The Desktop Application Specialist Group is seeking a highly-skilled team member to support the consultancy and customization services for our most sophisticated analytical tools so that we can provide clients with a tailored experience. As a Financial Modelling Specialist, you will mainly focus on the below areas:

Client Adoption
  • Using your deep knowledge of MS Excel, you will build models and perform product configuration and integration while onboarding new clients and winning new business. This global team builds over 7,000 Excel-based financial models each year.
  • You will be a guide for clients, meeting regularly to diagnose market problems and highlighting how our product provides the best capabilities and solutions.
  • An effective communicator and product authority, you will train and support clients in-person and via web conference.
  • You will partner with the sales and technology teams to invent new functionality for clients.
Sales & Client Development
  • A partner to the sales team, you will demonstrate product capabilities to clients and prospects.
  • Serving as a contact during the RFP process, you will conduct research and analysis, providing key data to business leaders.
  • Acknowledged as a corporate finance authority to the organization, you will serve as a source of knowledge and trusted partner.
Thought Leadership
  • Committed to operational excellence, you will invent and develop tools that improve clients' workflows
  • Collaborating with clients, you will provide insight for industry participants and how S&P Market Intelligence solutions can be brought to bear on standard methodologies.
The Impact:
This global, seasoned team specializes in onboarding and client adoption for our desktop platforms including the S&P Capital IQ™ Platform Excel Plug-In, PresCenter, Screening, Charting and Proprietary Data capabilities. Comprised of former investment bankers, MBA's, CFA charter-holders, and technical professionals, this team is charged with understanding our clients' needs and objectives and providing solutions to improve their workflows.

The Opportunity:
The S&P Capital IQ Excel plug-in allows clients to streamline their workflow by automating their Excel models with S&P Capital IQ data. Working with an ever-changing and growing suite of products, you are on the leading edge of development and success as we continue to invest in our desktop platforms.
The Team:
The Application Specialist Financial Modelling team is global team of over 30 professionals that work with clients such as investment banks, asset managers, and large corporations to streamline their workflows. Every single day, this team fosters a collaborative environment across multiple geographies, dedicated to the extraordinary client service that sets us apart from our competitors.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in investment banking or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Close familiarity with financial and accounting principles, CFA certification, or CFA candidate a big advantage
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Excel a huge plus
