The Senior Officer will contribute to the development and implementation of management company operations in Luxembourg.

Oversight of the investment management function for pooled funds
 
  • Along with the CO, oversee the investment management function
  • Review analysis reports, including risk/return analysis, attribution reports
  • Participate in regular investment management reviews
  • Review initial and on-going due diligence reports on investment managers
  • Review compliance with investment management policies and risk guidelines
  • Review pre-trade and post-trade incidents, ensuring compliance with best execution principles
  • Prepare reports for the Conducting Officers of the Company, the Board of the Company both on a regular and on an ad hoc basis
  • Work closely with Investment and Operational Risk colleagues in Luxembourg and London
 
Segregated mandates
 
  • Management of the Luxembourg client - taking on the process to ensure the successful and controlled management of new business for Institutional clients is achieved, working with the clients and internal stakeholders to achieve the resolution of any issues
  • Along with the Conducting Officer Portfolio Management and Distribution (“CO”), oversee the day-to-day management, by the Investment teams in London, in line with the strategy and guidelines agreed with the client
  • Review of investment policy / strategy and guidelines
  • Assist the CO in carrying out of their responsibilities generally
  • Prepare reports for the Conducting Officers of the Company and the Board of the Company both on a regular and on an ad hoc basis
  • Oversee compliance of investment managers with rules
  • Assist with the coordination of client meetings, including operational due diligence, service review and other Investment update meetings as required
  • Build excellent working relationships with all key stakeholders within the business
  • Assist with departmental and other projects as required, including testing and implementation of new systems and the impact of regulatory change on service delivery.
 
Distribution
 
  • Along with the Conducting Officer - Portfolio Management and Distribution, implement and follow up the marketing policy and the distribution network of the UCITS and AIFs managed by the Company
  • Ensure compliance with the distribution strategy set out by the Board in relation to pooled funds and segregated accounts
  • Initial and on-going due diligence process on distributors
  • Monitor distributors, including review of reports
  • Contribute to a review of policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the design and implementation of policies, procedures and processes for distribution and ensure that these are appropriately implemented in Luxembourg in conjunction with the Compliance team. In particular ensure that policies, procedures and processes comply with MiFID II regulations insofar as they are applicable, together with any new applicable regulations
  • Close cooperation with offices around Europe
  • Ensure all reporting requirements are met
  • Work within regulatory and statutory requirements at all times and ensure that Columbia Threadneedle meets its fiduciary responsibilities
  • Prepare reports for the Conducting Officers of the Company, the Board of the Company both on a regular and on an ad hoc basis
  • Review of reimbursements to be paid to distributors
  • Coordinate with the transfer agency oversight team
  • Preparation of clients' onsite visits


Key Capabilities:
 
 
  • University degree in finance or economics with more than 5 years of relevant experience
  • CFA / CAIA / FRM qualification is a distinctive advantage
  • Deep capital markets knowledge and experience dealing with a range of (complex) investment strategies, as well as all client segments
  • Pro-active, self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Flexible, assertive, dynamic, well-organised and willing to travel
  • Must be a structured individual with strong workflow management and project management skills
  • Strong ability to work with others both in the team and across the business to achieve effective solutions and decisions
  • Good self-organisational and time management skills; ability to work under pressure to short deadlines
  • Ability to make clear decisions and exercise sound judgement; demonstrable problem solving, specifically around data and process
  • Openly shares information and own expertise with others
  • Excellent numerical / analytical skills are essential
  • Strong ability to use and/or learn IT tools
