Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Participate in researching markets and identifying acquisition / partnership opportunities
  • Perform financial analysis and valuations
  • Work on a variety of projects to enhance Smith & Nephew's strategic position,
  • Draft and take ownership of presentations and memoranda for approval committees
  • Assist and participate in the executions of transactions, including due diligence
  • Managing various databases of valuation metrics and past deals

To be considered for this role you will possess the following:

  • Internship experience ideally in an investment bank or also in corporate finance accountancy, or strategy consultancy
  • Penultimate year student, studying towards an undergraduate Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent qualification, or a two-year Master's Degree, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field
  • Good accounting or statistics background (e.g., through coursework, CFA (or equivalent), or relevant work experience) and strong analytical skills
  • Genuine interest in Investment banking and corporate finance with a good grasp of what a M&A transaction entails 
  • Basic understanding of valuation methodologies
  • Interest in financial modelling and analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Power Point and Word 
  • Articulate, corporate and well-presented 
  • Highly motivated and committed to the job
  • Detail oriented and diligent 
  • Sense for urgency 
  • Multitasking capabilities 
  • Entrepreneurial initiative 
  • Strong team player
