Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the CIO and DCIO to ensure that Fund Management provides a clear and insightful steer to business procedures and strategic direction within Jupiter

• Support the CIO in the communication of Fund Management priorities and initiatives; assist in preparation of materials for ExCo and Board meetings

• Work with the DCIO in identifying strategic and operational priorities for the smooth running of the investment floor; develop and execute clear plans of action for addressing business issues and implementing change

• Develop strong relationships with Heads of Strategy, Fund Managers, Analysts and Product Specialists understanding the key elements of each investment process and enabling FMs to maintain a clear understanding of client and competitor trends

• Work with the CIO and DCIO to ensure that there is a culture of open communication and collaboration within Fund Management, resulting in strong investment performance

• Support the CIO and DCIO in initiatives to attract and retain high calibre investment professionals

• Assist CIO/DCIO in preparing regular performance reviews in line with internal standards and regulatory requirements

• Act as a key point of contact in co-ordinating activities of the investment floor with other areas of the business, developing strong relationships with Heads of Department, Sales, Marketing, Product Development, Compliance, Legal, Operations, IT, Performance and Risk, HR, Finance, PR

• Work with the DCIO to ensure that fund management activities are conducted in a robust control framework and that procedures are clear and well documented

• Assist with responsible management of the Fund Management budget, most notably as this pertains to agreements with Research providers

• Work with CIO and DCIO to ensure that there is strong understanding between Distribution and Fund Management as this relates to product priorities, assessment of business opportunities, pricing and communication

• Represent Fund Management in working groups and forums designed to develop effective strategic solutions at a firm level e.g. working groups designed to plan for regulatory or political change

 

The Ideal Candidate:

• Act in accordance with the FCA's Treating Customers Fairly principles;

• Adhere to Compliance requirements (including FCA rules, Anti Money Laundering regulations and HMRC requirements) and internal procedures

• Manage risk within area of responsibility in order to mitigate errors and breaches

• Meet responsibilities as documented in the Disaster Recovery Plan

• Good understanding of the Asset Management industry, processes, procedures, client trends, competitor landscape, regulatory and operational frameworks

• A keen interest in investment and markets

• Highly numerate with attention to detail

• Excellent communication and influencing skills

• Project management skills

• Good organisational skills - capable of working to deadlines and multi-tasking

• IT skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg and proficient with technology

• Able to source and present portfolio data from a range of industry systems, such as Morningstar, Bloomberg and Style Research

• Ability to work well as part of a team

• Ability to interpret and implement controls

• Resilient - able to cope in a fast moving and challenging environment

• Reliable - can be trusted with confidential and/or sensitive information

 

Qualifications required:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent industry experience

• IMC or willingness to undertake - preferable

• CFA or MBA - a positive
