Role Overview

Cambridge Associates’ Global Investment Research team comprises more than 150 investment professionals globally who are responsible for investment manager, operations, and risk due diligence; valuation analysis; and research publications. This position is on the Capital Markets Research team, which is charged with identifying risks, trends, and opportunities in financial markets to inform actionable advice. Investment Directors in Capital Markets Research gather, analyze, and disseminate data and viewpoints on asset classes and the capital markets; author publications on a wide variety of topics; and work closely with the chief investment strategist and with colleagues on the Investment Manager Research team to assess valuations and determine advice.

 

Role Profile

  • Write research publications on capital market developments, asset classes, and investment planning issues. Publications range from one-page Q&A style pieces, to 20+ page in-depth research reports, to multi-page chart books with limited prose.

  • Provide primary coverage for one or more asset classes (Equity, FX) Understand the valuation and other metrics that we currently use, and conduct research to enhance these metrics or proposed replacements. Determine our advice for areas of asset-class coverage, working closely in concert with others on the team and the chief investment strategist.

  • Follow developments in the capital markets and serve as a resource to client-facing teams and directly to clients, helping them to understand changes in the market and Cambridge’s views.

  • Develop internal and external networks to help generate new topic ideas, and contribute ideas to weekly team editorial meetings.

  • Work closely and effectively with associates and project managers on the team to deliver publications on time. Mentor associates to boost their investment expertise.

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required. MBA or CFA strongly preferred.

  • A knowledge of and fascination with global investment markets.

  • Excellent writing skills and a passionate dedication to writing well. Writing samples will be requested, and strong candidates will also be asked to complete a writing exercise.

  • Strong verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to the success of the team.
