Director Emerging Markets Credit Risk Management role based in London.
  • Working in small team to evaluate, approve/recommend new transactions (eg. loans, derivatives: FX, IRS, XCCY, repos, Trade Finance) to Corporate, FI and Sovereign clients across EM, principally Middle East, Africa (incl. sub Saharan) and Russia/CIS regions.
  • Pro-actively engage with front office to structure solutions which assist its growth, minimize the bank's expected loss and are in compliance with internal policies.
  • Set credit risk related terms in trading documentation (including ISDA - International Swaps Dealers Association/CSA - Credit Support Annex, GMRA - Global Master Repurchase Agreement, GMSLA _Global Masters Securities Lending Agreement) and liaise with CS' Legal department and clients or their lawyers, as appropriate.
  • Perform counterparty credit analysis including, but not limited to, credit due diligence meetings, cash flow and liquidity analysis, sensitivity analysis, and collateral and enterprise valuation analysis.
  • Evidence a robust assessment of existing credit exposure through quarterly and annual monitoring reports.
  • Identify early remedial action on deteriorating credits, working jointly with the workout department to manage problem credits and/or workout situations.
  • Ensure information systems measure obligor specific credit risk, including the composition, quality, and concentration of risk correctly against relevant limits.
  • Provide comprehensive and timely portfolio reporting for purposes of management oversight.
  • Implement policies and procedures to identify, measure, monitor and control portfolio credit risk.

You Offer
  • The candidate will be an experienced credit risk management professional already working in a commercial or investment bank.
  • They will have experience in Emerging Markets covering sovereign, corporates and financial institutions across various products including lending and derivatives, and be familiar with risk mitigation strategies (eg. insurance, ECA cover, CDS).
  • The candidate will have a relevant university degree preferably in finance, risk management, or economics, or have equivalent work experience (min.12 yrs.).
  • Desirable: Middle East/Africa coverage, Finance related second degree; professional qualifications, e.g. CFA.
