Responsibilities

  • Assessment, evaluation and providing recommendations to the London Credit Committee.
  • Review and challenge stress testing results relating to the corporate loan portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain an extensive base of industry knowledge.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting and monitoring of the London trade floor counterparty risk portfolio.
  • Develop and participate in effective local credit review processes for all trade floor credit applications.
  • On a quarterly basis provide critical analytical data relevant to the counterparty and credit risk portfolio
  • Assist with the preparation of corporate loan reporting
  • Assist the Director to ensure the accurate and timely completion of the IFRS9 process within strict timeframes
  • Maintain a weekly summary of credit events either account specific or where there may be a relevant credit impact relating to the credit risk portfolio.

Requirements

Education:

  • Graduate education in business or related with emphasis in finance, accounting, or business; or commensurate work experience. M.B.A., CA, CMA, CFA, FRM, CGA or equivalent designation an asset.

Work experience:

  • Solid progressive experience in a banking or credit capacity.
  • Solid grasp of loan structures and pricing including deal structuring, due diligence, documentation and protections required for complex credits such as highly leveraged acquisition credits, project credits etc.
  • Current understanding of relevant information as it relates to the complexity of varied industries and the credit applicant, i.e., the economic, tax, technological or social issues impacting the borrowers, the industry and the marketplace including country risk as required.
  • Ability to debate the merits and vulnerabilities of a credit application with Banking and European office management, providing recommendations as appropriate which requires highly developed communication skills.
  • Ability to understand financial statements and cash flow analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal, organization and project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
