EVENT DRIVEN EQUITY ANALYST, LONDON

Company background:

Our client is a event-driven hedge fund with $1.5bn+ AuM focusing primarily on EU merger arbitrage, special situations and relative value arbitrage who is looking to add a senior analyst to the team in the coming months. The ideal candidate will have 2-5+ years of analysing stocks within an event driven fund plus 1-2 years tier 1 investment banking experience. We will also consider top M&A associates at a bulge bracket bank or generalist equity analysts at a tier 1 fund.

Main duties of the role:

  • Creating and defending investment ideas to colleagues and managers

  • Closely following EU and global M&A announcements/news

  • Researching the market and assessing relevant stocks/equities

  • Working closely with fund managers to generate fund ideas

  • Having a hands-on role with all transactions/trades

The successful candidate must follow the following criteria:

  • CFA level II (minimum)

  • 2-5 years' experience within buy-side equity research

  • 1-2+ years' bulge bracket investment banking experience

  • A clear passion and willingness to develop

  • Postgraduate study in economics, finance, banking or relevant field
