Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing possible and 'best fit' debt strategies for the Group
  • Approaching the lending market and collating potential financing offers
  • Identifying other sources of debt, for example the bond markets etc.
  • Assisting asset managers with developing debt strategy recommendations to be made to the Senior
  • Management Team and to the Investment Committee 
  • Working with External Counsel and internal Finance and Operations teams to deliver legal documentation in line with recommended terms and highlighting material deviations within the required time frames
  • Modelling and executing recommended hedging strategies including all legal documentation
  • Ensuring accurate record maintenance of all debt positions
  • Managing renewal of debt and restructuring of existing facilities on expiry
  • Producing periodic reports for internal management relating to loan & derivative exposures
  • Responding to ad-hoc requests from the Senior Management

Required Experience/skills:

  • Professional qualification - banking, legal, CA, CFA or RICS or equivalent
    previous experience in debt underwriting
  • Established network with the lending banks 
  • Strong negotiation and legal documentation skills with emphasis on real estate lending documentation
  • University graduate, preferably in a legal, maths, business, or real estate related discipline
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office suite
  • Sophisticated financial skills and quantitative underwriting skills
  • 3-5 years' experience in real estate financing negotiations and debt/hedging execution

  • Able to interact with members of senior management, executives and others in a positive and collegial manner
  • Able to quickly grasp complex matters and handle them innovatively
  • Proficiency with financial modelling /analysis programmes (eg ARGUS, Excel )
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills 
  • Team player, highly cooperative and willing to give credit to others
  • Able to multi-task, meet deadlines and make key recommendations /decisions
  • Understands business issues and addresses them with effective action
  • Ability to develop strong  relationships with lenders
