Summary of Role

We currently have an opportunity for an Operational Due Diligence (ODD) Analyst within our Manager Research Team in London. You will work closely with other Investment Analysts and Consultants and will take responsibility for the timely delivery of ODD reports and projects. Please note that this role does include some travel within Europe.

The Role

  • Undertaking initial reviews of operational due diligence questionnaires and screening processes for investment managers across a range of asset classes (hedge funds, private equity, real-estate, bonds and equity managers)
  • Managing onsite operational due diligence visits
  • Researching the middle and back office functions of various investment managers
  • Reviewing selected fund managers' trading systems and pricing procedures
  • Assessing the nature and quality of all service providers
  • Reviewing fund documentation including audited financial reports, controls reports, offering memorandum, IMA and subscription docs
  • Conducting ongoing updates and follow-up where changes have occurred
  • Collating and assimilating data to help respond to consultant and client queries

  • Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client's broader business issues
  • Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Work with client teams in delivering special consulting projects

  • Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team

  • Interview and evaluate investment managers for operational risk
  • Support senior team members in the provision of first class advice
  • Directly contribute to clients' success through applying your technical expertise
  • Participate in special projects as needed
  • Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches

People

  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
The Requirements
  • Financial services experience, preferably operational due diligence, fund accounting, internal audit or related areas
  • General understanding of investments and the institutional investment industry
  • Understanding of operational processes and risks
  • High degree of professionalism in dealing with global colleagues and clients
  • Well organized and detail oriented; ability to execute with accuracy
  • Compliance focused with ability to follow and improve team procedures and processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to formulate and support a documented thesis and form opinions
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in finance, business or accounting; CFA, CPA and/or advanced degrees advantageous
  • Team player comfortable in a professional services environment with the ability to effectively debate and subsequently influence people internally and externally at all levels.
  • Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects and teams, producing quality deliverables on time and within budget.
