Presentation of Operations

Operations is a 200 people department within Global COO supporting all expertise (except REIM) and Client Group in all locations. Our teams are located in all AXA-IM offices: Paris, London, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Zurich, Orinda, Greenwich, Singapore, Honk Kong and Tokyo. Our services provide a global operational platform for our investment to target any asset classes in all regions, to offer our funds a global network of distribution.

Our core mission is to on board, support and control the smooth processing of operations into a robust and effi-cient framework, in order to serve both AXA-IM and our clients in a consistent and efficient manner across locations and external providers. We enable AXA-IM business development through direct operating services.

Job overview

The role is to calculate investment performance and produce portfolio analysis to clients including fund managers, sales, marketing and client services. The ability to liaise with fund managers and client teams in order to assess and interpret requirements is important as well as the technical skills to be able to automate and streamline the produc-tion process.

Main Responsibilities

- Responsibility for the preparation, review & timely distribution of performance and Fixed Income attribution to internal clients within agreed deadlines
- Ensure the on-going quality and accuracy of performance reporting
- Interpretation and analysis of performance data
- Ensure that all the reporting is produced within mandated and regulatory timeframes
- Support the Front Office, Client Group and the Marketing & Sales teams with portfolio analysis and ad hoc per-formance queries
- Ensure procedures are up to date and stored in the correct location, controls are in place and monthly audit packs are completed and archived
- Work with Performance Manager to support existing production process, look for ways to improve productivity by analysing systematic issues to feedback into the production process
- Work with Performance Manager to support the client on boarding process related to performance measurement request (new or change), coordinate stakeholders and provide support (reporting design, control framework, production processes)
- Provide oversight & support for our outsourced providers
- Investigate and resolve where necessary all out of tolerance performance differences between Middle Office and Fund Accounting
- Escalate all performance issues or production issues to the Performance Manager
- Complete and submit Risk event forms
- Liaise with colleagues in Paris for cross training & to help harmonise processes between locations
- Cross training and mentoring other team members

 


 

Qualifications
 

Desired Skills & Experience

- Degree qualified with a financial or analytical discipline
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Performance Measurement, preferably within Asset Management with an Insur-ance focus
- Good understanding of the back office and Fund Accounting data
- Knowledge of market leading performance measurement techniques & methodologies
- Possession of CIPM, CFA or IMC is ideal
- Proven working knowledge & experience gained in Performance Measurement and is familiar with a range of asset types, including equities, fixed income and derivatives including OTC's
- Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly and start adding value from day one
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and be happy to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Positive, can do mindset to help deliver first class service to our customers and to help navigate and deliver change within the business and team

Technical Skills

- Proven track record of preparation of performance measurement reporting, data integrity and maintenance of the performance system
- Attribution Analysis - Solid comprehension of the Brinson model is essential, Fixed Income Attribution is highly desirable
- Widespread knowledge of investment products with a focus on fixed income
- Desirable System Knowledge: Lipper, Morningstar, Datastream, SimCorp Dimension & Bloomberg
- Strong Excel Skills & Experience. VBA for Excel highly desirable
- Numerate (a degree in a numerical discipline is highly desirable)
- Excellent written and oral English language skills
- Client-oriented mind set
- Proven ability to help deliver projects
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility and to be able to multi-task and support the team
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels
- Accountability within the role is essential
- A team player with good communication and presentation skills
- Good organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and manage deadlines
