Main Purpose of the Role

Credit Responsibilities
• Contribute to the Team's workflows for the entire NBFI portfolio, with respect to (i) effectively managing the annual review process, (ii) supporting ongoing business origination initiated by EBD NBFI industry vertical and other business lines, (iii) proactively monitoring the entire NBFI portfolio, (iv) actively participating in defining the NBFI strategy for EMEA and coordinating Risk Appetite framework definition for NBFI segments/ sub-segments - to be achieved through the delivery of high quality credit reviews, active participation/ leadership in deal teams, close liaison/ consultation with key stakeholders.
• The role will require an ability to respond to tight deadlines and changing demands along with strong teamwork with colleagues within CAD, ECD, Coverage, Product Offices and Head Office in order to deliver for our clients. Measurement will be made on (i) quality of Credit and Risk analysis, (ii) proactive monitoring of the assigned portfolio and (iii) feedback from key stakeholders, team leader, EBD Senior Management.
• Support business origination and development through rapidly building up internal corporate knowledge around Strategy for the FIG segment and specifically in relation to NBFIs - both global and for EMEA, product mix suited for NBFIs (contingent capital, repos/ securities lending/ macro hedging etc.), country credit policies including MUFG risk acceptance for FIs/ NBFIs within EMEA.
• Assist the Team in (i) providing credit training to more junior team members/ graduates, (i) proactively seeking process improvements where appropriate, and (iii) promoting leaner communication and building partnerships with internal stakeholders
• Develop existing Excel tools for financial spreading, automated quantitative data treatment and cleansing, standalone rating assessment, financial forecast modelling including stress testing etc. - using information provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence (External financial data provider for FIG EMEA).

Portfolio Management Responsibilities
• Take an active role in designing and shaping the Risk Appetite Framework and support development of Stress testing for the developing NBFI franchise
• Establish policy and procedures to highlight developing risk themes to Senior Management, business and credit lines
• Develop an implementable Credit Risk Appetite Framework for NBFI segments and sub-segments in coordination with key stakeholders across front office, risk and credit functions
• Establish methodology to calculate and report regularly, and where necessary, recommendations to adjust strategy and/or risk appetite to EBD Senior Management
• Support the enhancement of the Stress Testing methodology including embedding of stress testing in risk appetite assessments

• Key responsibilities to include:
- The proactive credit coverage of a defined portfolio of NBFI clients, involving ongoing annual review process with respect to internal ratings and uncommitted/ committed credit facilities, providing a comprehensive analysis around client-specific credit profile and outlook, overview of key risks and mitigants, regulatory framework, articulated credit recommendations, peer analysis etc.
- The proactive support of business initiatives for existing clients and prospects for EMEA jurisdictions, internal consultation/ coordination/ transaction-screening, and effective time management
- Strong knowledge of legal documentation (facility agreements for plain vanilla loan products, ISDA CSA, GMSLA, GMRA etc.), and active participation in documentation negotiation
- Ongoing portfolio monitoring with ad-hoc, specific reporting and analysis as appropriate
- Business support around screening prospects, providing ad-hoc market/ industry researches and advising the Coverage team in exploring opportunities consistent with segment strategy, risk appetite and country credit policies
- Support the team leader as appropriate, including around project management and in assisting junior team members.
- Lead the definition of Risk Acceptance framework for new NBFI segments and sub-segments and per country/ region, engage with Risk and Credit functions for implementation in support of business origination and in agreement with the Bank's overall Risk Appetite.
- Conduct various portfolio management initiatives for monitoring, stress testing, Economic Capital/ RWA optimization purposes etc.
- Support the Team and broader Front Office Division in implementing automated financial tools for enhancing infrastructure systems.

Work Experience
Essential:
• Min. 5 years' experience as NBFI credit analyst including portfolio management responsibilities, preferably acquired with Tier 1 Investment Banks
• Extensive knowledge of European regulation for insurance companies including Solvency II Directive.
• Good knowledge of BIS/ Basel regulatory framework for Financial Institutions
• Strong knowledge in banking products and those addressed to NBFIs/ FIs in particular
• Comprehensive understanding of, and proven existing experience in Risk Management and regulatory frameworks, including around Advanced Internal Rating-Based (AIRB), Economic Capital allocation, RWA-determination methodologies etc
Preferred:
• Proven experience in financial modeling including Excel VBA macro programming

Education / Qualifications:
Essential
• Masters' degree in Banking & Finance
• Proven and extensive experience in macro-coding on Microsoft Excel Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

Preferred:
• Credentials including CFA, ACCA, CAIA
