This role offers the opportunity to design, recommend and implement technology aligned performance improvement solutions for the full spectrum of products and functions within the Capital Markets industry across a diverse range client assignments including:
- Analysing the impact of changes driven by global regulatory reform (MiFID II, FRTB, EMIR, BCBS 239 and structural reform), defining and implementing suitable solutions
- Front to back business process transformation including cost reduction, robotic process automation
- Leading technology change programmes
- Target Business and Operating Model design and implementation
- Assessment and enhancement of controls and operational risk framework
- Large scale project and programme management
Your key responsibilities
In your role as a Manager you will have responsibility for:
- Managing and leading project teams or workstreams as part of larger projects,
- Being responsible for high quality delivery on a client assignment, usually as part of an on-site project team
- Demonstrating knowledge and experience in one or more market areas and technical skills
- Building long term trusted advisor relationships with our clients
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities for new business
- Aiding proposals and bid teams
- Assisting in developing EY solutions and supporting tools and methods
- Supporting EY practice and people development activities (e.g. recruitment, away days)
- Liaising with service line teams, account teams and functional specialists
Skills and attributes for success
- A high level of drive and commitment to delivering high quality work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Being a supportive team player who actively develops relationships and is eager to share knowledge with EY colleagues and our clients
- A structured approach to problem solving
- The ability to learn new subject matter rapidly and a desire to develop a deep understanding the trends and challenges shaping Capital Markets and Technology
- Flexibility in approach, willingness to adapt quickly and initiative when working in unstructured environments with limited supervision
To qualify for the role you must have
- Successful track record in the capital markets industry ideally gained through a top tier consultancy, a specialist financial services consultancy, or within an internal change function of a top tier bank
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team of technology advisors focussing on projects for our Capital Markets clients
- Experience of developing sales collateral such as proposal responses
- Good appreciation of current market trends in Technology and Capital Markets
- Good understanding of one or more Capital Markets product areas
- Good understanding of end to end process flows and functional areas of capital markets participants
- Experience delivering at various stages of the project lifecycle, knowledge of Project Management, Business Analysis and/or SDLC
- Industry recognised business, finance, IT or project management qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE 2, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, BPR, CIMA or CFA
- Team player; ability to integrate with new teams quickly
- Outgoing with good relationship skills and the ability to deliver quality output
- Excellent communicator in range of situations both written and oral
