Role overview
The Associate Portfolio Manager works closely with the Associate Directors in EPMU to ensure the team's functions and operational objectives are met; to ensure on-going integrity of the Bank wide equity data and to provide a common platform of consistent information for analysis and reporting across the Bank on all matters related to the Bank's equity portfolio.
The Associate Portfolio Manager performs those tasks assigned to him/her, working independently and as part of a team. The Associate Portfolio Manager may also oversee and/or co-ordinate the work of more junior team members and interact with internal and external counterparts as required.

Role overview

Accountabilities and Responsibilites
- Develop and maintain systems, models and processes to capture data, enhance reporting capabilities, identify and analyse information in order to facilitate decision making by senior management
- Advance and maintain key working relationships with other departments and represent EPMU at interdepartmental meetings as required
- Assist with development and implementation of new equity processes across the Bank
- Monitor assigned sector team portfolios, including valuation process and value creation liaising directly with relevant Value Creation Leaders, Equity Leads and Operation Leaders
- Review and interpret legal documentation, equity project documentation and financial statements
- Provide constructive advice, guidance and supervision to more junior team members and oversee specific operational tasks
- Ensure that all tasks are completed within the specified time frames to a high standard and in line with the policies, procedures and objectives of the Bank, including recommendations for corrective actions where required
- As a team member perform all such tasks as may be assigned, working independently or as part of a wider team
- Provide justification, documentation and assistance to external auditors as required
Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Knowledge
- University degree in Economics, Finance, Business or related subjects and / or equivalent experience
- Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA desirable but not essential
- Strong quantitative/numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information
- Credit analysis skills, with the ability to interpret accounts with understanding of accounting principles
- Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office and spread sheet packages including financial analysis and modelling modules
- Excellent understanding of relevant systems, processes and Bank's policies
- Ability to work effectively as a team member, under time pressure and to tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills in English
