Overview
The Global Wealth Management (GWM) Business Analyst will work in conjunction with the GWM Business Manager to manage all of the day-to-day aspects of working with Financial Intermediary clients/distributors. This involves developing a deep understanding of the distribution channel, the WMF fund line-up, and the competitive landscape of the European and Asian retail fund industry.

The GWM Business Analyst will act as a project manager internally to connect various resources across portfolio management, product management, client services, compliance and marketing in supporting and servicing distributor sales efforts. In addition, this person will assist in developing the distribution sales strategy for new countries/regions as well as in developing new funds.

Responsibilities
Sales Execution & Strategy
  • Serve as the central point of contact of the GWM team working with various internal teams to assist with the day-to-day running of the team.
  • Be the escalation point for distribution related questions for the internal functions (e.g. fund company, compliance, client services, etc.)
  • Work in close coordination with the Business Developers and Portfolio Advisors to develop the ongoing service needs to drive flows.
  • Understand the distributor on-boarding process and assist with the oversight of our new distributors (e.g. KYD).

Project Management
  • Drive multiple projects with competing deadlines to completion. This can include business plans to expand into new regions/territories, regulatory changes that affect this channel, etc.

New Fund Development
  • Manage this project/process.
  • Work with others internally to understand the major asset class buckets and satellite fund options for UCITS funds, review the overall size and flows into funds in these categories, and analyze where current gaps in our WMF fund lineup exist.
  • Suggest a long-term fund launch schedule to fill the above gaps and help to manage the overall fund launch process on behalf of the GWM team.

Qualifications
The GWM Business Analyst must demonstrate competence in three major areas as follows:

Interpersonal/Communication Skills
  • Establish effective working relationships internally, ensuring all interested parties are appropriately informed of and involved in client-related matters.
  • A team-orientation and a willingness to "pitch in" when necessary; grace under pressure.
  • Regular communication and connection with individuals in similar roles throughout the firm to share industry trends, best ideas, best practices, etc.

Investment, Channel & Regulatory Knowledge
  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge of capital market theory and practice, Wellington Management products (process, strategy, and characteristics), the distribution channel, and investment process (knowledge of all related functional areas).
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of UCITS marketing regulatory and compliance guidelines and an understanding of the sales practices within the European and Asian high net worth market.

Business Management Skills
  • Make appropriate determinations of resource usage, and demonstrate strong ability to prioritize issues.
  • Be creative and flexible in leveraging existing content and limited resources to support a wide array of distributor requests.
  • Demonstrate the ability to anticipate distributor needs, issues, and concerns.
  • Demonstrate strong business judgment, including the ability to synthesize multiple complex issues and effectively balance competing objectives.
  • Engage the organization appropriately, making sure that all relevant parties and functional groups are informed, involved, and engaged in relationship and business management issues.
  • Escalate issues appropriately; seek input and advice from others as needed.

The GWM Business Analyst will ideally have 3-5 years of relevant professional experience with demonstrated progress towards a CFA and/or MBA.
