What you'll do:
  • You will have responsibility for the overall design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Risk Management Framework, including operational risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, market risk, conduct risk and reputational risk and associated policies and procedures
  • You will assess, mitigate, monitor, measure and report on risks impacting on the business
  • You'll ensure that the business is able to demonstrate effective management of risks
  • Produce key risk & incident metrics
  • You will promote and embed a strong risk culture within the firm, including educating and training staff on potential risk and the techniques used to mitigate such risk
  • Chairing & leading risk committees and reporting relevant information to the Board
  • Working closely with the Business and Finance you will assess, quantify and stress test risk drivers and factors and the amount of capital required to support them (ICAAP)
  • You'll support strategic planning for the business and develop an aligned risk strategy
  • You will have responsibility for the selection and implementation of risk systems and associated user training
  • Design and implementation of a risk training programme for the UK regulated entity
  • Collaboration with the US based Group Enterprise risk team & functions
  • Representing the Risk function internally and externally, this will include you communicating to stakeholders and ad-hoc interaction with the Regulator
  • You will also fulfil change program duties as and when required

What you'll bring to the table:
  • You will have substantial experience of UK risk management within regulated financial services organizations
  • You'll have experience in design and implementation of effective risk frameworks
  • The proven ability to successfully implement and embed the risk framework and risk culture
  • You'll possess experience of working at a senior level within financial services organisations including wealth management platform providers
  • Knowledge of both UK and US regulatory frameworks with the ability to work effectively with the US headquartered Group
  • You'll possess superior stakeholder management skills and the proven ability to influence at a senior level to build effective working relationships
  • Experience in team leadership with the ability to identify, hire, develop and retain risk talent
  • A Bachelor's degree, ideally in a related field e.g. risk, finance, accounting etc (or equivalent). Further professional qualifications such as CFA are preferable

  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with staff and external parties including the regulator. Report writing and presentational skills
