Insurance institutions worldwide are responsible for circa £10 Trillion of investment assets. Insurance companies are increasingly opening up the management of their assets to external asset managers to access expertise and capabilities they do not have in-house. Schroders views the insurance client segment as one of the most strategically important channels of business development for the firm over the next 10 years. The Global Insurance Asset Management team leads Schroders engagement with this key client segment. This role is a client facing business development role, which will be instrumental in helping us to develop our strategic partnerships with insurance companies across the globe.

Team Overview
The Global Insurance Asset Management team is a dedicated unit within Schroders Distribution which provides leadership and resources to develop the firm's business with insurance companies globally. The hub of the team is in the UK. Representatives in the USA, Europe and Asia coordinate our insurance business development activities in those regions.

The team comprises actuarial, sales and service specialists who work with each other, and with our locally-based sales teams around the world together to help build our relationships with insurance companies. We engage directly with clients at senior decision-maker level, and indirectly through local salespeople who require specialist technical support.

We act as a link between the broad investment capabilities of the firm and the particular requirements of insurance clients, who have to operate inside regulatory and other constraints. We work on relevant, insurance-focused investment ideas, providing sales and marketing materials to explain these ideas. We provide strategic relationship management for large, global clients where the firm's business development activities need to be coordinated across regions. We provide the strategic planning behind our regional sales teams' insurance client business development objectives. We look after the firms very large, operationally-complex strategic partnership insurance clients, who require specialist relationship management.

Overview of Role
This role is a client facing business development role, which will be key in helping us to develop our strategic partnerships with insurance companies across the globe. The role will encompass these main areas of responsibility:
- Client Research - analysing individual insurance clients' to attain a clear understanding of each clients' business position and investment requirements so that we are able to identify opportunities to help them. This will include the building and maintaining of Strategic Account Plans for our key insurance client targets.
- Industry Research - developing and maintaining a strong knowledge of insurance market dynamics to identify trends and opportunities.
- Business Reporting - using Salesforce and Finance data to report on and analyse assess our global insurance business development activity. These reports will be used to keep regional Sales teams aware of other relationship developments around the globe and for reporting to senior management.
- Team Strategy - Use insights drawn from research and reporting work to input into team strategy. For example, defining regions or investment strategies that should be prioritised.
- Providing sales support - Creating high quality sales collateral for use in client meetings, coordinating the completion of RFPs and answering client queries. This will involve liaising effectively with professionals across investment, distribution and operations, as well as senior management.

Experience and qualifications
- Good base of investment knowledge, with an eagerness to deepen and broaden understanding of the firms investment capabilities.
- Strong inter-personal skills, ability to build internal and external relationships
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Minimum 2:1 degree level qualification
- Investment Management Certificate (IMC)
- CFA qualification is beneficial
