Job Description Summary:
An executive assists with transactions; interfacing with clients and other professionals in the preparation of business plans, information memorandum and supporting financial information. An executive should know when to seek advice from more senior members of the team and other specialists as appropriate (e.g. tax).

Job Description:
Markets
• Prepares pitch documents for presentation to financiers and other professionals
• Attend networking events with peers in other intermediary, banking and private equity firms

Clients
Preparation of information memorandum/business plan
• Identifies key issues for inclusion in the IM/BP
• Prepares documents including the executive summary to a competent level and ready for manager review
Preparation of financial information
• Prepares profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements relevant to the business
• Carries out analytical review on client and potential client financial information
Preparation of pitch document
• Assists team members with researching relevant information for pitch and prepares pitch documents for manager review. Utilises the in-house research team in order to conduct company, market and sector research to support transactions
Contribution to client meetings
• Regularly attends meetings; when appropriate, answering client queries. Takes minutes and proactively encourages the partner/manager to follow up on agreed actions
Research
• Understands the client market place, identifying specialists within Grant Thornton and related work undertaken, to identify potential buyers or targets. Prepares detailed data sheets on all buyers or targets
Client relationships
• Builds good rapport with the client, with a clear understanding of client expectations

People
• Works effectively with all members of the team
• Actively seeks opportunities to attend workshops, keeping technical knowledge up to date and developing managerial competencies through in-house development opportunities
• Ensures compliance with internal procedures including the completion of client take-on
• Keeps Partners and Managers informed of progress on each job
• Meets deadlines set by manager and partners
• Ensures the firm's risk management policies and procedures are complied with

Operations and results
• Has an awareness of the firm's risk management procedure and adheres to this. Mitigates risks by involvement of senior people and ensures appropriate advice is sought
• Ensures timesheets are completed on a timely basis
• Preparation of internal takeover completion documentation and sign off

Minimum requirements
  • From a professional services Audit background
  • Have passion to pursue and join CFA
