SSGA is one of the world's top asset managers and we are a market leader for equity solutions across active, passive and smart beta strategies. The primary purpose of the Equity Indexing Portfolio Strategist will be to support our equity indexing and smart beta business in EMEA. You will work together with the client facing teams at meetings, represent our firm at conferences, produce engaging thought pieces, provide insightful analysis and commentary and engage with the portfolio management teams daily. Ultimately you should be a highly effective client facing investment professional that will set the highest standards in communication and content.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
•Act as a partner to the client investment teams. You will be recognised as an authority in the areas of equity indexing, smart beta and ESG investing.
•Design materials for our equity indexing strategies including pitch books, product profiles and strategy commentary pieces. You will interact frequently with our other portfolio strategists and specialists to ensure consistency and efficient use of resources.
•Present to clients, prospects and consultants on SSGA's equity indexing capabilities; conduct account reviews for existing clients, handle ad hoc client queries and support the consultant relations teams in due diligence meetings and consultant engagements.
•Collaborate effectively with the wider firm resources in areas such as product research and development, marketing, RFPs and thought leadership.
•Understand investment markets, the themes that drive them their implications for clients.
•Provide high quality training to the relationship teams and to select clients, ensuring effective positioning across all channels (institutional, intermediary and official institutions).

Qualifications

You are knowledgeable about markets and expected to have direct experience in equities. Experience in equity indexing, smart beta and ESG strategies would be a plus.
You are a strong communicator, both written and verbally, along with an engaging personality and excellent presentation skills. Additional language skills will be viewed positively, as this role covers the EMEA region.
Fluency in the practical applications of statistics, finance and economics to investment management is required, in particular the ability to analyse and evaluate data and present findings to a broad range of audiences and formats.
You will need to demonstrate initiative and prioritise workload, with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
You will have an ability for creative thinking, to take on problems and improve processes, as well as an ability to take complex ideas and present them in an intuitive fashion.
You are adaptive and will be able to interact well with different teams in various locations, remaining independent while providing support to the business where necessary.
A graduate degree in a meaningful discipline (e.g. business, economics or finance) is required. In addition, post-graduate or CFA charter holder would be preferred.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
