Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Help track and report on the performance of a basket of c. 25 Global equities vs. the MSCI AC World Index.
  • Update the portfolio and risk systems to reflect changes in asset allocation and month end rebalancing.
  • Maintain a log of key points from company results, announcements and market-moving events.
  • Work with key stakeholders to help design and manage a research database which provides a broad array of both internal and external research and actionable investment ideas.
  • Assist in the building and maintenance of spreadsheets containing key financial metrics and relative valuation tables.
  • Help create concise summaries of company results for inclusion in the weekly round-up publication.
  • Contribute as necessary to monthly factsheets, performance stats and investment rationales.
  • Assist in the preparation of slide packs and participate in monthly meetings of the Global Equity Strategy Committee.
  • Make an active contribution to the asset allocation and stock-selection process.
  • Provide cover for the International Equity Analyst.
  • Analyse investments using Reuters Eikon, Bloomberg and other information providers.
  • Keep abreast of market developments and contribute to morning research meetings.
  • Help develop and manage a research database which will augment the Research Team's existing range of investment guidance. The collation and dissemination of relevant and actionable internal and third party research should provide further investment support to our Investment Managers and enhance communication and collaboration across the investment network.
  • Respond to requests from the investment network.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three years' equity-related research experience.
  • Progression towards industry professional qualifications, e.g. IMC or CFA.
  • Extensive experience of using financial databases, e.g. Datastream, Reuters Eikon and Bloomberg.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • A good general knowledge of equities and valuation methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of financial markets, macro-economics and multiple asset classes.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
  • A flexible and collaborative team player.
  • A self-starter, highly motivated and with strong attention to detail.
