  • My client provides a range of multi-asset investment solutions to a number of Group investment channels including Wealth Managers and Advisor networks
  • The role of the Investment Director is to be a representative of the investment team with a prime objective of promoting the capability internally with Group clients, both in the UK and international markets
  • The role's key responsibility is to effectively demonstrate my clients' investment management expertise to advisers and clients in order to provide support towards effective marketing, distribution and strategic growth initiatives, providing a view on the global economic, regulatory and behavioural market dynamics that impact on investment opportunities and therefore client investment strategies in the medium and long term
  • Also critical is to understand the needs of the key clients in various markets, thereby helping to develop investment proposals that are fit for the clients' investment objectives
  • Client portfolio strategy - help clients obtain a greater appreciation of the interplay between their objectives, the portfolio strategies offered and the dynamics of the markets and how my clients' solutions align to the their needs. As such, this role helps demonstrate how the client can achieve optimal investment strategies through the use of my clients' investment expertise in various asset classes and in various economic environments
  • Markets analysis and Thought Leadership - helping to ensure ensuring that my client remains to be (and is perceived to be) at the frontier of investment knowledge and capabilities, raising its market competitiveness through Thought Leadership activities. Externally, this will mean that the role will be responsible for analysing, consolidating and translating views on current, relevant economic issues and communicating these to key clients and stakeholders. Internally, the role will be at the forefront in helping consolidate the organisation's efforts toward maintaining excellence in and relevance of their investment knowledge and skills for the benefit of their clients
  • Client Meetings - Expected to attend client meetings in support of sales activities and be seen as part of the investment team. Demonstrate in depth portfolio knowledge and be able to communicate the funds strategy effectively
  • Roadshow/Industry conferences - Be able to present investment strategies at events and industry conferences to a high standard on both the main platform and in break out groups
  • Marketing/RFP - Provide thought leadership articles and ideas to the marketing teams and aid in the composition of presentations. Provide insight and material in support of the RFP process


Your Experience:

  • My client is quite flexible on experience / background, although you will have worked within technical market facing roles within the buy-side and have exceptional client servicing focused skills with demonstrable experience in finance, asset management and research, preferably in a global and multi-cultural environment
  • Detailed understanding of distribution both in the UK and international markets - in depth understanding of the adviser market. Have the ability and maturity to effectively work with investment managers on the one hand and the marketing and distribution team on the other
  • You will have a strong technical foundation in finance and economics (degree qualified most likely), to provide support in understanding, internalising and translating global economic, business and regulatory developments as these apply to investment activities
  • Possess a strong foundation in portfolio management processes, investment products and financial instruments
  • A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is preferable
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate technical investments and economic analysis to a wide variety of audiences which will vary in depth of technical market awareness and therefore you must be able to adapt your approach accordingly
