Based in Central London, the Investment Office oversees the management of the client investment strategies delivered through an outsourced investment management model and an internal Authorised Corporate Director (ACD). This team has accountability for defining and maintaining appropriate investment mandates for its products, ensuring performance delivery of model portfolios and robust processes for underlying manager selection and portfolio implementation.
The position
This role reports into a Senior Manager within Investment Risk and Governance team of the Investment Office. Key activities will include:

The position
This role reports into a Senior Manager within Investment Risk and Governance team of the Investment Office. Key activities will include:
- Performance monitoring and analysis - assist the senior manager in the monitoring and analysis of the outsourced investment manager's decision making and performance, primarily in relation to ACD funds, reporting results into an ACD investment committee.
- Provide effective oversight of the manager and sub-advisors - ensuring appropriate challenge of the investment process and outcomes.
- Investment risk - assist in defining risk tolerance levels, mandate parameters and restrictions for the given investment strategy, including exposure to derivatives and FX.
- Monitor investment risk and challenge through in-depth analysis, including risk decomposition and changes in risk profile such as style or factor exposures.
- Contribution to forums and committees on ACD investment risk
- Assessment of performance of funds and managers against benchmarks and peer groups.
- Assessment of liquidity policies and monitoring of liquidity risk.
- Supporting the wider team with analysis and projects as appropriate
Experience, Skills, Capabilities required
- Experience in providing performance and investment risk analysis, reporting, oversight and attribution of various types of funds and portfolios.
- Able to defend confidently and strongly client interests and challenge investment managers at a deep technical level
- IMC qualified, and CFA level 1 or equivalent
- Familiarity with common risk analytics tools used in asset management an advantage
- Good communication skills
- Strong Stakeholder management
- Strong understanding of ethics, conflicts of interest management, and demonstrated values and behaviours aligned to the expectations at SPW
