Day to day responsibilities include: conducting credit research and making investment recommendations to fund managers for the selection/de-selection of financial instruments for the funds. Other responsibilities include portfolio analysis, risk analysis as well as periodic client reporting.

The role will also assist with the proactive promotion and marketing of the fixed income funds and working closely with the Sales and Marketing teams on business development activities.

Research
  • Conduct robust credit research (may include financial modelling) on relevant companies and generate investment recommendations for the selection/de-selection of such financial instruments across suite of fixed interest or mixed asset portfolios.
  • Liaising with internal and external investment analysts, brokers, Issuers and other representatives to benefit from their insights and inform decision-making;
  • Where appropriate, work with responsible screening;
  • Assisting with the preparation and publication of company and sector research reports;
  • Assisting with the drafting and production of fund commentary and associated market literature;
  • Keep abreast of financial news, macro-economic data, company and or sector-specific credit events to inform recommendations for the fund/s.
  • Assist with investment performance reporting process across all portfolios. Ensure timely production of quarterly and ad hoc written reports, providing overview of major Fixed Interest asset classes and or sectors;
  • Ensure through personal integrity & honesty, continual professional development and keeping abreast of technical & industry knowledge that fulfilment of FCA's probity, fitness and competency requirements are met.

Client Responsibilities & Business Development:
  • Actively participate in the promotion, retention and development of new business, to include:
  • Supporting internal and external distribution initiatives through participation in PR initiatives, updating client presentations, attending client meetings, drafting responses to ad hoc investment queries in addition to editorial on the funds and related subject matter

Necessary Skills / Experience
  • Demonstrable interest in Fixed Interest markets, ideally with working knowledge of bond concepts
  • Ability to assess and interpret complicated financial information, with strong analytical skills;
  • Working towards full CFA Membership, or equivalent investment qualification;
  • Excellent working knowledge of excel (including pivot tables and advanced formulas), data extraction and report writing skills;
  • Excellent understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements;
  • A basic understanding of Responsible and Sustainable investing
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Excellent Communication skills and;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, with good prioritisation & time management skills
