Where you'll fit in & what our team goals are....

Threadneedle's UK Equities Team is looking to recruit a UK Equities Analyst to deliver long term investment opportunities for the team and the UK group of funds. The role will initially be focused on enhancing our coverage of the UK market with responsibility for a number of stocks and sectors. Ideas will be sourced from both internal discussions e.g. with other CTI analysts and through meetings with management teams and brokers. In time the role could lead to coverage of other sectors and potentially to fund management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

How you'll spend your time....
  • Interacting with management from firms, chairing company meetings, writing stock / sector review notes and providing investment recommendations to the team.
  • Engaging and debating stock ideas in a constructive manner using effective communication to appropriately influence and share ideas with colleagues.
  • Managing relationships with internal clients mainly Investment and Distribution teams.
  • Some travel with Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Client Portfolio Managers as required to conduct marketing and to meet clients/institutions.
  • In time, there may be the opportunity to run portfolios.
  • Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite for both internal investment meetings and external marketing.


Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have....
  • Previous asset management or investment analyst background
  • Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite for both internal investment meetings and external marketing.
  • Experience working as an equity analyst, either buyside or sell side.
  • Strong modelling, valuation and qualitative analytical skills. These are essential to perform company, industry and economic analysis.
  • Proficiency with software tools such as Excel and database management.
  • Business model analysis with the ability to identify key strengths and weaknesses of a business model.
  • A focus on identifying high quality businesses with strong and durable competitive advantages.
  • Generalist background and / or knowledge & experience of multiple sectors.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to deliver high conviction stock recommendations.
  • Diverse knowledge and experience of valuation methodologies.
  • Team player
  • Self-Starter
