About the role
  • Identify suitable funds that either have ESG leadership or that have specific sustainable objectives. Be able to consider the fund managers' ESG credentials alongside investment expertise.
  • Contribute to the ESG assessment of our broad list of funds under coverage and our engagement with fund managers on their approach to integrating ESG and active ownership.
  • Maintain active recommendations on 30-40 investment managers, generating effective and timely investment recommendations.
  • Whilst the role is focused on ESG, the successful candidate may also cover one or two broad sectors where some funds have less of an emphasis on ESG factors within the investment process.
  • Communicate recommendations effectively and persuasively in both verbal and written format and inform Quilter Cheviot and Quilter Investors Investment Managers of significant developments and events.
  • Attend and contribute at the morning meetings and other investment meetings as appropriate.
  • Help develop the framework for specialist ESG fund analysis and portfolio level ESG analysis and reporting
  • Conduct high quality quantitative and qualitative analysis in a timely fashion
  • Lead fund manager due diligence meetings and attend conferences
  • Conduct research into various ESG and investment themes

About you
  • Worked in financial markets for 3+ years with specific experience of fund research.
  • Confidence in communicating is required during meetings, both internal and external.
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Can demonstrate experience of presenting and is comfortable doing so to a large audience.
  • Flexibility to work unusual hours on occasions when required.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of Factset, Morningstar and Style Analytics an advantage.
  • Demonstrable understanding of ESG factors and the role it plays in the investment process.
  • IMC, preferably part-qualified in the CFA. CFA ESG certificate desirable,
