The Opportunity:
Your Experience:
My Client:
- Working within a innovative and highly respected Global Alternative Investment Manager, this is an excellent long-term career opportunity
- Sat within the middle office, offering a lot of interaction with the investment teams, this role is very broad and high profile
- The culture of the firm is very progressive and offers excellent professional development opportunities
- Initially, this role will be focused on supporting their derivative trade operations (CDS; Futures & Options and a wide range of underlying financial instruments). However, in time you will be rotated and cross trained on other asset classes including listed equities and fixed income, and, loan products
- More specific responsibilities include:
- Day to day trade support
- Managing trade flow and trade lifecycle activities, working with external trading counterparties, fund administrators, prime brokers, clearing brokers, custodians etc.
- Working closely with front office trading teams and assisting with the resolution of trade queries etc
- Active participation with project initiatives
- Support of other internal functions such as front office, product control, legal etc
- Enhancement of controls and processes
Your Experience:
- You will be a quietly ambitious individual, most likely looking to transition your trade operations related experience into a broader and more progressive role
- It is likely that you will be early in your financial services career, with experience most likely gained from a larger sell or buy-side firm
- You will have a good appreciation of the trade lifecycle and ideally some knowledge around futures and options (or CDS), although, theoretical knowledge gained via the IMC or similar will suffice of you have practical trade operations experience with other asset classes
- Whilst the long-term career opportunities within this progressive firm are excellent, it is important that this role represents a natural progression for you and not merely a stepping stone. In light of this, completion of levels of the CFA may be viewed adversely
- You will be humble and acknowledge that you require both personal and professional development at this relative early stage in your career, and, for that reason this role offers a hugely exciting career opportunity
- It is essential that you can evidence strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Possess a high level of academic achievement, although, attitude and experience will be considered more important than academics
My Client:
- A progressive and culturally diverse alternative asset manager with an enviable track record of success
- With offices in a multiple geographic locations, this award winning firm is a rare commodity within the buy-side community dominated by huge buy-side firms formed through mergers and the challenges that this brings!
- Possesses a culture that promotes both personal and professional development
- My client is an equal opportunities employer and would welcome applications from all genders
