BNY Mellon Investment Management is one of the world's largest investment firms. We believe the right results begin with being relevant to every client, whether it is engaging with them to create solutions, offering diversified strategies or providing insights for better-informed decisions.

That is why we designed a model built around investors' needs to offer the best of both worlds: world-class investment firms with best-of-breed talent and unique cultures combined with the global scale and strength of BNY Mellon Investment Management. We connect investors with opportunities across every major asset class, globally.

Today, we have eight investment firms: Alcentra, ARX, Dreyfus Cash Investment Strategies, Insight, Mellon, Newton Investment Management, Siguler Guff and Walter Scott.

We believe this is how investing should be and we are looking for talent to help us deliver on our promise.

Job Purpose
The Head of Product Structuring's purpose is to act as the Product lead and expert, helping drive new business opportunities through proactive product structuring advice and subsequent project management of opportunities won. The role works closely with the sales team and the firm's clients to assess new product opportunities as sales leads are located, proposing solutions that are both feasible with the client and profitable to the firm. The role sits within the Product area with expectations that the individual will spend a relatively high portion of time with sales staff and clients than a traditional product role. Success will be measured on the quality of solutions created and proposed, as well as the amount of AUM and revenue won by the firm from these activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactive and creative advise on product structuring, able to overcome obstacles and drive opportunities to won and funded status
  • Work closely with sales and clients to unearth new opportunities; input into and manage the product response on new RFP opportunities which would require a new product design
  • Project management of legal and operational build out of won and funded opportunities
  • Oversee and proactively advise on BNY Mellon's product structures; review existing structures and create business case proposals to restructure where beneficial

Our expectation is that people will bring:
  • Excellence
  • Client Drive
  • Accountability
  • Efficient Decision Making

Qualifications
  • Core Competencies:
  • Significant knowledge of existing and newly created product structures available across EMEA markets
  • Develop partnerships across and outside the organization
  • Gravitas to deal with senior sales heads and clients alike
  • Demonstrates initiative and understands business priorities
  • Technical Investment Skills
  • Significant knowledge and experience of the Asset Management Industry, specifically product and structuring of investment products across the full spectrum of investment products (15 years+ experience)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • IMC or preferably CFA qualified or CFA qualification underway
