Job Purpose: To provide information, research and recommendations that will positively inform the decisions that are made by the Portfolio Manager regarding investment opportunities for the managed multi-asset funds.

Key Responsibilities: To build a clear understanding of the role and functions that are undertaken in the Investment Management (IM) and Governance (G) teams.

To develop a high-level understanding and interpretation of the financial markets and the impact that this will have on True Potential’s portfolios and managers.

Develop and maintain an understanding of the wider business environment such as relevant economic, political and regulatory environment that may inform our decisions or that of our managers.

Meet and engage with the underlying managers whether existing or prospective, produce and contribute to the production of insightful questions, obtaining key information that informs decision making.

Provide insightful analysis on existing and potential managers, to include both a quantitative and qualitative element, the risk characteristics of the funds and that they are appropriately risk mapped.

Present recommendations to the investment team, clearly articulating the rationale, the opportunity and being open to challenge from the IM team. Actively participate in such discussions on macro and research recommendations from other members of the investment team.

To provide bespoke reports and analysis as required.

Assist with the construction and updating of operating models.

Record all activity in the relevant area of our system such that an audit trail is built on our decisions.

To complete all IM workflows as per the regular monthly timeframe.

To demonstrate compliance with all internal procedures and external regulation.

Other Responsibilities: Build and maintain strong working relationships with the broader business ensuring best practice and knowledge is shared. Participate in broader initiatives focused on improving our and business processes.

Assist in the marketing and distribution effort as required including helping develop marketing material, meeting clients and prospects. Contributing to written commentary for clients and prospects.

Ensure you are aware of, comply with regulatory, risk and compliance obligations including understanding your personal responsibilities, obligations and record keeping.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

Competent in relevant IT programmes, in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
