Director of M&A

operates 14 operating businesses and over 350 employees throughout the US and Canada. It focuses on a buy and hold for life strategy for growing software companies that serve specialized vertical markets.

This is a new opportunity to be a key contributor in a rapidly growing software consolidator. You will be the first dedicated UK team member as they seek to grow their presence in the UK and Europe. As a front-line leader on the M&A team, you will meet with business owners to evaluate alignment with the company's acquisition criteria and to determine prospective company valuations. While reporting to the Head of M&A, you will lead multiple acquisitions per year from start, through due diligence, to closing, with the support of the company's executive team and advisors. You will also be responsible for key operational improvements post-acquisition. The company is committed to the career development of its team members and as such, your leadership role in numerous acquisitions will allow for further growth opportunities as an operating executive at one of their portfolio companies, if of interest.

The successful candidate will have 5-10 years in corporate development and M&A, preferably working with technology companies. Other relevant experience will be considered, such as operating as a leader within a growing software company, experience with recurring revenue business models at a top-tier consulting firm, or those with an investment banking background. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly evaluate key risks and opportunities in a business, as well as negotiating and executing acquisitions with business owners/executives. A qualification such as CA/CPA/MBA/CFA would be considered an asset.

As this will be the first employee in the UK, the role can be based from home, with some travel as required.
