Purpose of Role
To assist the UK Investment Management (IM) department in day-to-day operations. The desk assistant will be involved with conducting research, investigating discrepancies, running reports and ensuring timely trade booking, settlement & matching.
Principle Responsibilities

To assist the UK Investment Management (IM) department in day-to-day operations. The desk assistant will be involved with conducting research, investigating discrepancies, running reports and ensuring timely trade booking, settlement & matching.
Principle Responsibilities
- Production & distribution of reports used in the investment process
- Assist the IM team in identifying potential trading opportunities
- Support Portfolio Managers with aligning portfolio holdings and asset allocation
- Assisting with trade allocation & entry into Charles River
- Monitor cash levels across accounts
- Responsible for electronic matching of trades across strategies
- Support the Back Office with any trade / settlement issues
- Maintain and check proprietary trading and analysis systems
- Assist with / cover regulatory disclosure requirements
- Help with monitoring of announcements and price moves of securities in the universe
- Assist in keeping procedures up to date
- Responsible for completing any ad-hoc projects assigned by the IM department
- Prepare required analysis for Portfolio Managers ahead of client meetings
- Produce documents required for investment meetings, including best execution and trading reports
- Maintain & improve Bloomberg sheets
- Monitor news on companies in the London EM IM universe
- Attend Investment Management research / strategy meetings
An ideal candidate would be:
- able to articulate clearly
- interested in and have knowledge of financial markets
- excel proficient, VBA is a bonus
- highly numerate
- looking to work towards achieving the CFA qualification
