Investment Support Analyst - Graduate

Purpose of Role

To assist the UK Investment Management (IM) department in day-to-day operations. The desk assistant will be involved with conducting research, investigating discrepancies, running reports and ensuring timely trade booking, settlement & matching.

Principle Responsibilities

• Production & distribution of reports used in the investment process
• Assist the IM team in identifying potential trading opportunities
• Support Portfolio Managers with aligning portfolio holdings and asset allocation
• Assisting with trade allocation & entry into Charles River
• Monitor cash levels across accounts
• Responsible for electronic matching of trades across strategies
• Support the Back Office with any trade / settlement issues
• Maintain and check proprietary trading and analysis systems
• Assist with / cover regulatory disclosure requirements
• Help with monitoring of announcements and price moves of securities in the universe
• Assist in keeping procedures up to date
• Responsible for completing any ad-hoc projects assigned by the IM department
• Prepare required analysis for Portfolio Managers ahead of client meetings
• Produce documents required for investment meetings, including best execution and trading reports
• Maintain & improve Bloomberg sheets
• Monitor news on companies in the London EM IM universe
• Attend Investment Management research / strategy meetings

An ideal candidate would be:

• able to articulate clearly
• interested in and have knowledge of financial markets
• excel proficient, VBA is a bonus
• highly numerate
• looking to work towards achieving the CFA qualification
