An analyst to join the team's research function in London with a focus on continuing to develop our investment process across a range of global equity strategies.

The team
The QEP investment team manages $24 billion across a range of global equity strategies with clients in multiple regions, predominantly institutional in nature. The team is made up of 29 people based in London, New York and Sydney.
What you'll do
There are a number of aspects to the role including participating in research projects under the guidance of portfolio management to support investment decision processes such as
• Conduct exploratory data analysis on new potential data sources, including ESG and unstructured data.
• Researching new signals across value, quality, sentiment and ESG to integrate within our existing signal library
• Improve the management of investment risk and help to develop portfolio construction tools
• Summarise research findings in written research to articulate clear conclusions and highlight key drivers and risks in the investment process
• Take ownership of the model output on a daily basis together with the other member of the research team
• Collaborate with Schroders teams such as Data Insights Unit and Schroders Sustainability Team to enhance the use of shared research and datasets
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
They key characteristics required for the role include:
• Analytical academic background
• Interest in and affinity with financial markets and research
• Ability to work in an intellectually challenging, collaborative team environment
• Hard-working, self-motivated, innovative, proactive and responsive
• Good communicator and inter-personal skills
• Excellent attention to detail;
• Efficient and well-organised, including clear prioritisation of work load ;
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
• Experience with statistics, optimisation and analysis of large datasets
• Experience in fundamental industry or sustainability
• Structured problem-solving capabilities
• Programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL or Matlab
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification or ambition to enrol in the program
