The Role:

Support the development and execution of a dynamic business strategy for the evolution of the M&G collectives fund range in line with business goals and keeping the investor at the heart of the process.
Provide direction and leadership in respect of new product development and the ongoing management of the fund range with focus on specific asset classes as required.

Key Work Level Accountabilities:

Manager or Expert:
  • For people managers, accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders
  • For technical specialists, accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise
  • Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk
  • Manages conflicts that may impact delivery
  • Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture
  • Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output
  • Manages resources and risks using expert judgment, know-how and experience

Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Ensure all product activities are conducted in a compliant manner than places the end investor at the heart of all decision making
  • Product development; initiate or support development of the product set to ensure it is aligned with the business vision and strategy. Develop ideas from through concept stage to completion of feasibility and project proposal and sponsor implementation
  • Product management; lead ongoing, proactive management of existing product set to ensure it remains fully fit for purpose in terms of customers' expectations, pricing, profitability and the prevailing regulatory landscape. Develop ideas from through concept stage to completion of feasibility and project proposal and sponsor implementation
  • Work with a variety of stakeholders including Investment Teams, Distribution channels, Marketing Compliance, Risk and Finance to ensure product initiatives fits with the overall business plan;
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Understanding of the UK and European financial services markets.
  • Expert knowledge of various product structures including UCITS, QIS, ACS, CCF, UK Pension Funds together with a working knowledge of the constantly evolving distribution landscapes which prevail in each of these markets
  • May hold MBA, IMC, CFA or other relevant qualification
  • Strong academic background, including degree
  • Identify and fulfil regulatory requirements
  • Likely to have 5 years of management Product related experience
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Decent knowledge of desktop tools including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Internet Explorer
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (Board level)
  • Highly self-motivated, with strong ability to work under own initiative and to own agenda
