You're the first of your friends to know about a major financial event. You build relationships quickly and effortlessly and have a real desire for a career in a client-facing role. You're professional and personable, intelligent, and analytical. You're a solution-provider; with a passion for digging deep to truly understand challenges and their causes.

Our Global Data Alternative Fund team is looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join our Data Procurement team (London) and work to expand Bloomberg's Hedge Fund and Investor Mandates products. The role involves direct client outreach with asset owners and asset managers to understand the alternative funds market - where institutional investors are currently searching to invest, what type of funds are outperforming their peers, and more. The successful candidate will be effective at researching the market and developing relationships with key decision makers through strong interpersonal skills, as well as collaborate with Bloomberg's Sales, News, and Marketing teams to deliver content to the market.

Demonstrated product knowledge or strong interest in the alternative investment industry, as well as a strong passion for pursuing a career at Bloomberg is essential.

What you'll do:
  • Connect with institutional investors to source new investment mandates, maintain existing relationships with asset managers, and plan organized outreach campaigns to expand the userbase of the mandates platform.
  • Speak with hedge funds in the industry to verify and onboard data to Bloomberg's Hedge Fund Database and drive Terminal adoption.
  • Work with Bloomberg Sales and News teams to showcase new content and analyses derived from Bloomberg's Alternative Fund product suite to current and potential clients.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to technical partners to drive product vision and innovate across Bloomberg's alternative investments offering.
  • Maintain clean and structured data on the Bloomberg terminal to ensure our clients have access to the best product possible.

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 - 4 years of professional experience in an account management or sales role in financial services.
  • Demonstrated interest in financial market, alternative investments, and the aspiration to work in the financial services industry.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills
  • Effective research and analysis skills with attention to detail
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving ability; aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, including cold calling campaigns
  • A broad understanding of both hedge fund and private markets fund strategies

We'd love to see:
  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, MBA, or related field preferred/CFA or CAIA designation
  • Interest to complete the CAIA qualification or similar in future if not already obtained
  • Interest in information technology, data analysis and data modelling, and statistical analysis or computer programming (for example, knowledge of SQL, Python, Regex, JSON)
  • Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal
