Our client is the leading mid-market M&A adviser in the UK, Europe and globally. Revenue growth means we are in the market for recruiting top talent, who are keen to contribute to the ongoing success of the business. We are looking to hire an M&A Director in the Real Estate team based in London.

The team has an opening for a senior team member with a focus on the origination and execution of M&A lead advisory mandates in the Real Estate sector. The opportunity is for a sector specialist to join the team who will work on a broad range of UK transactions including sell side, buy side, capital raising and strategic advisory mandates.
The Real Estate team has significant credentials in advising private equity, family office, institutional investors, developers and operators across the Residential and Operational Real Estate sectors. Examples of recent transactions in the team include the sale of a holiday parks business, the sale of a housebuilder and the acquisition of a stake in a modular housing business.

It is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in growing an ambitious sector team.

Roles & Responsibilities

*Deal origination: Leading the charge on developing deal flow, using a network of relevant and high-level contacts to help originate both buy and sell-side mandates for the team;
*Ensuring rigorous and efficient execution delivery: remaining fully engaged throughout a process;
*Business development: Play a key role in furthering the firm's strength in the Real Estate while supporting other areas of the business with go to market and business development best practice / strategies;
*Manage internal relationships: further leverage off the firm's reach and brand outside of M&A deal advisory. The reach and strength of senior relationships across the sector is a powerful tool to be harnessed;
*Team development: Develop, coach and motivate an experienced team. While the successful individual(s) will have an external / origination focus, they will not be successful without further developing a more delivery focused team;
*Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including intermediaries and other advisors;
*The successful individual will be central to all key decision making and will play a vital role in the continued development and success of the team and wider M&A advisory business

Attributes, Qualifications & Skills

*Strong academic & technical background (ACA, CFA, MBA or equivalent)
*Significant experience within M&A in an investment bank, Big 4, private equity team, M&A boutique or real estate investment firm
*A proven and demonstrable track record of materially contributing to the successful generation of competitive sell and buy-side mandates in the M&A advisory space
*Strong numerical, analytical and strategic thinking skills and demonstrated experience of financial modelling
*Significant real estate transactional experience with a demonstrable record of deal execution across all phases of the transaction cycle from origination to completion. Transactional experience in one or more of the following sub sectors will be preferable but not essential; housebuilding, student accommodation, build to rent, healthcare and senior living, self storage, hospitality and leisure.
*Excellent communication skills with the authority and credibility to gain respect both internally and externally with people at all levels
