Job Purpose
The Investment Development Unit is responsible for production and delivery of the many strategic, legislative and growth opportunity projects within Investments as well as meeting the operational requirements of the core client services provided by IFS.

The nature of the work focuses on accountability to clients to meet their everyday business objectives as well as longer term strategic plans. Development requests will be focused on ensuring operational efficiency for the Investment Division and effective handover to BAU teams is essential.

The role of the Senior Investment Business Analyst is to use technical investment expertise backed by robust analytical processes to design and deliver viable business solutions/recommendations and to develop strong client/colleague relationships to help resolve issues, challenges, and resource conflicts.
• Provide detailed technical guidance adding an additional level of review on development requests to ensure a strong control framework is maintained to mitigate financial/operational risks.
• In conjunction with the Client Services supervisor to oversee more junior team member's work.
• Have broad knowledge of generic investment operations.
• Communicate to senior IFS and CL management on project developments and issue resolution.

Key Accountabilities
1) Support Investment Development requests that underpin a specific company-wide strategic initiative or department initiative from end to end including planning, investigation, review, design, documentation, testing, implementation, change management, communications and handover to BAU. Develop strong client/colleague relationships to help resolve issues, challenges and resource conflicts. Understand customer needs and use investment intelligence and technical skills to deliver competitive commercial solutions.

2) Effectively map out investment processes, analyse inefficiencies, present research, lead workshops and propose recommendations to clients and key stakeholders.
Map the more complex processes and design solutions to meet business needs in regard to the Investment product development lifecycle, i.e. work with Pricing Actuaries to deliver innovative fund designs managed by our Investment Admin systems.
Prepare functional specifications for large and complex business processes and operational/strategic requirements.

3) Act as the technical liaison for Investment operational development requests with the respective line of business' finance teams and management. Represent IFS on all relevant strategy/project meetings and proactively manage the resolution of operational issues and challenges whilst communicating formally with key stakeholders and IFS Management. Represent IFS Department on working groups and committees as and when required.

4) Train and motivate junior members of the IFS department. Explain technical solutions to non experts through workshops and embed new processes back into operational BAU teams in IFS.

5) Communicate to Senior Management, in an appropriate manner, the impact, financial or otherwise, of various developments, investigations, recommendations and analyses. Provide the basis for recommendations to Senior Executive Team to ensure successful business operations.
To assist the Investment Development Unit Supervisors in the production of all auditable working papers to support all key European investment development, operational changes and decisions. Be able to communicate concepts to the Investment Financial Services team members (new systems, new regulations) clearly to ensure all requirements are met and implemented effectively.

Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills
• Extensive experience of investment and fund accounting
• Extensive experience of managing various levels of stakeholder groupings, including external parties
• Easily able to translate business requirements into a working document with SME support
• Strong communicator verbally and orally. Able to reach all customers especially with more working from home.
• Good record of being able to meet deadlines, maintaining quality.

Significant Investment Administration & Pricing practical work experience
Investment Accountancy Experience
Recognised Investment qualification - IOC or IMC
Project Management Experience/Qualification
