The team

Schroders Capital Fund Operations & Services department is organized in a number of teams (Financial Planning & Analysis, Fund Accounting, Fund Management, Mandate and Business Solutions and Valuations), distributed across offices in Beijing, New York and Zurich.

The organization of Fund Operations & Services is aligned to Schroders Capital investment strategies, i.e. a dedicated team of specialists runs the activities related to each investment program. The team heads directly report to the Head of Operations Private Equity.

Our ambition is to be and remain the competence centre for private equity operations covering the whole lifecycle of our investors, funds/mandates and investments, supporting all investment types (primary, secondary and direct-/co-investments) on our in-house PE platform. Further we are expanding our service to other Private Asset classes within Schroders Capital.

We provide a stable private equity/private assets operations platform that focuses on value delivered to our external and internal stakeholders. In order to ensure that the emergent growth of our business can be implemented quickly and effectively, Schroders Capital Operations is looking to hire a Mandate and Business Solutions Manager.

What you'll do

The Mandate and Business Solutions Manager is a core member of the Fund Operations and Services team and the Operations department. Together with its peer, it has the following responsibilities:

• Define, implement and maintain an operating model framework within Fund Operations and Services / Operations globally for private equity and other private asset funds and mandates
• Work in close collaboration with other Operations globally and the Private Assets Solutions Team
• Research, evaluate and implement business-specific requirements and solutions from an operational and client point of view
• Drive implementation of new private asset products within the Operations departments globally that covers special client requirements
• Liaise with clients for building an operating model which fits into Fund Operations and covering client requirements
• Facilitate complex operating model implementation/onboarding's and ensure smooth transition within Fund Operations and Services

Responsibilities include:

• Enable and drive change initiatives in relation to the operating model framework within Fund Operations
• Assume project leadership for specific product requirements and solutions
• Analyse operational business requirements proactively for current and newly established products
• Act as the first point of contact and a centre of competence for operating model implementation/onboarding related questions and interact daily with various stakeholders, in close collaboration with other Fund Operations teams and Operations globally
• Assume accountability for documentation and conceptual work in relation to the operating model framework
• Ensure continued improvement through conducting regular retrospective reviews
• Support other team members in improving their skills and experiences
• Develop procedures, policies and standards related to the operating model framework

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• Academic credentials in law, business administration, engineering and/or finance
• A background of professional experience in operations or in a similar role
• Self-motivated and proactive with strong desire to learn and succeed
• Strong analytical and project management skills and ability to drive different processes at the same time
• Ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external parties
• Fluent in English, any additional languages are a plus
