AustralianSuper is a leading and fast-growing global investor with operations in Australia, Asia, the United Kingdom and United States. We are the largest superannuation (pension) fund in Australia, and one of the 25 largest pension funds globally, currently with £160bn in AUM. We are a profit-to-member fund with a "Members first" ethos and culture.

Our London and New York offices, currently consisting of 70 colleagues, will grow four-fold over the next three years.

Your new team:

The team is a critical enabler of the Fund's international platform, comprising the key functions of Finance, Commercial and Corporate Legal, Investment Operations and Compliance, Technology Services and support for Investment Transactions.

Currently 20 colleagues, the Finance and Operations (UK and US) team will grow to 100 colleagues in the next three years.

Your new role:

As the key decision-maker on operations outside of Australia your remit will be to build, grow and lead this multi-faceted, international team. The role holder will be a member on the International Offices Leadership Team as well as the Finance and Operations Leadership Team.

This role is based on site at London King's Cross Estate, one of the core assets of the Fund's global portfolio, with opportunity to discuss flexible working.

Key duties include:
  • Grow, develop, and motivate the international Finance and Operations functions consistent with plans.
  • Lead strategic thinking on the "follow the sun" operating model and functions.
  • Ensure a "Members First" culture is firmly embedded into the international offices.
  • Ensure all regulatory and statutory reporting is delivered consistently, including global planning, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Overseeing financial, legal, and taxation due diligence processes and completion activities
  • Oversee post-trade activities to support the Trading and execution team operating from London.
  • Oversee technology services, projects and delivery to key systems.
  • Ensure appropriate relationships are established and maintained with key service providers, government, industry, and regulatory authorities.


You'll need:

You are a senior operations leader from an asset/funds management background, with experience working across multiple jurisdictions, ideally Europe and the US. You have led multi-layered, cross-functional teams in high-growth, change-rich environments.
