The Portfolio Construction Technology team is responsible for enhancing, maintaining and supporting the application suite for the Investment Implementation team.
We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Portfolio Construction Technology team. You will have a solid background in application development, sustaining engineering, release management and infrastructure/environment support, ideally within cloud-based architectures. You will be part of a dynamic team that requires a keen and diligent eye for analysis, problem solving and successfully delivery within a DevOps model.
You will work predominantly with our in-house developed investment systems which cover order intent capture, target capture, order creation and submission, trading (to a limited degree) and live PnL tracking, and the various tools that support these applications and their users.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities include:
- Work with a DevOps mindset and develop acumen for sharp troubleshooting techniques
- Incident management skills
- Hands on experience on monitoring tools for Application, Service, Infrastructure and Data Quality Monitoring
- Responsible for sustained engineering efforts including maintaining code quality, unit testing, continuous integration, release management, performance tuning and execution.
- Directly contributing to agile builds and deployments to production, and provide strong team anchoring role in production stability, and work with other developers to follow best practices
- Challenge and contribute to designs with respect to application stability (resiliency, recoverability) topics
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work with Cloud architectures
- Being an adaptable, self-motivated learner with a willingness to take ownership of various projects to support in fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject
- 5+ years experience working with Java 8+
- Systems administration experience (Linux and Windows)
- Strong grasp of object-oriented software engineering principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Capacity to work under pressure
- Comfortable working across time zones
- Willingness and ability to work both collaboratively and independently based on the task
- Experience with Spring, JavaFX, Tomcat, JavaFX, Swing, Hibernate, Jenkins, Git, Python (including Jupyter notebooks), React.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Oracle, OpenFin, GraphQL, Postman, and Wireshark
- Experience with web technologies (HTML, JavaScript and CSS)
- Experience with AWS including EC2, CloudFormation, Route 53, S3, ECS, API Gateway, and Lambdas
- Grasp of equity, fixed income, FX and derivative financial instruments
