London Team:

With over 50 people in our office in Kings Cross now, you'll be working with all the different departments both here and our New York office, as we grow and expand further.

Reporting to our Commercial and Corporate Legal Manager, sitting within our Finance and Operations department you'll be responsible for a range of duties, from internal legal advice on general matters, including answering questions from senior stakeholders in the Fund from a local UK perspective, to assisting with corporate governance activities.

International Fund Team:

We established a permanent team in London nearly 6 years ago, to enable the Fund to expand its global investment portfolio and build our international profile.

In a small scale office environment, you will be exposed to professionals across our Investment Asset classes, as well as other functions required to support them, giving you the chance to build broad relationships, gain a deeper understanding of how each of these areas operate and get involved in activities outside of your immediate role or team.

Our office is based at 2 Pancras Square in the Kings Cross which is part of the Kings Cross redevelopment project which is one of the core assets of our investment portfolio.

Your new role

As part of AustralianSuper's international growth plans, we are seeking an experienced Corporate Legal professional to join and grow with the team here in London.

What makes this role unique is that you are an integral part of supporting the Fund, both on internal and external legal matters.

Key duties include:
  • Providing legal advice on a range of general matters
  • Develop, review, negotiate, draft, and resolve contractual agreements and commercial arrangements internally and externally
  • Assist with regulator enquiries.
  • Provide advice in relation to intellectual property protection
  • Advise and support with the development of policies and procedures.
  • Research legal questions and legislation to provide and communicate legal advice
  • Support with training on legal issues to the Trustee's offshore staff as required.
  • Assist in the management of external commercial matters and present to the business
  • Work alongside the Company Secretary with corporate governance activities and obligations.

You'll need:

You will be a dynamic individual, enjoy engaging with a range of stakeholders and thrive on being hands on with the work that you do.
  • Significant experience in a law firm environment, and/or a commercial in-house legal function.
  • Good experience advising general corporate and commercial law
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Proven experience of providing commercially focused legal support
