Our client, a major international alternative asset management group, is seeking to recruit an ESG Manager to join its Credit team in London. Reporting to the Group Board and ESG Committee, the ESG Manager will focus on implementing the Firm's ESG policy and Strategy.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-established, experienced and responsible private equity investor at an exciting stage in its growth strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supporting the firm in the further development and implementation of its ESG programme at both firm and portfolio company level
  • Supporting Investment teams in the integration of ESG criteria into their investment and portfolio engagement processes
  • Working with the Head of ESG in support of the sector teams to identify interesting investment sub-sectors based on ESG criteria
  • Engage with Investment colleagues to support pre-investment ESG due diligence, typically alongside ESG consultants
  • Develop ESG training, guidance and toolkits to support the investment team
  • Keeping the ESG Committee up to date with relevant industry and regulatory developments and recommending ESG policy and strategy proposals
  • Analysing portfolio company data for the annual ESG review
  • Conducting industry benchmarking and ESG research
  • Identifying and showcasing successful ESG practices and initiatives across the portfolio companies
  • Preparation of annual PRI submissions and ESG reports
  • Drafting responses and reports for investors

YOUR PROFILE:
  • You will have ESG industry experience working within asset/ fund management, preferably a private equity firm or within an advisory role in a leading professional services firm
  • Experience of integrating ESG into the full investment life cycle and engaging with senior investment professionals and C-Suite members of investee companies/ corporates
  • Excellent analytical, monitoring & reporting, and communication/ presentation skills
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • A network of industry peers, relevant trade associations and ESG advisers would be preferable
