We are looking for a talented Data Engineer with skills in Data Solutions Design to join our community of technology experts, DWP Digital.

You'll work on our Children Analytics Data Service. You'll design, develop and maintain complex data solutions and robust data models - based on big data technologies - that improve how we offer support to children and their carers.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need to show us?

Experience of:
  • Utilising modern programming languages and databases to enable analytics including one or more of Hive SQL, SQL, Python
  • Translating customer needs into effective data solution designs.
  • Data engineering concepts and tools, covering ingestion, transformation and storage, preferably in a big data environment.
  • Shaping and sharing communications, finding and recommendations using the right media and message for you audience.
  • Collating and analysing data from various sources and communicate the scope and limitations of the data.

Understanding of:
  • Core technical concepts relating to Data Solutions Designs
  • Big Data Concepts.
  • Conceptual, Logical and Physical designs
