We are seeking to recruit a full stack developer into the platform team, enhancing the platform to increase the productivity of the technology department.The primary goal of the team is to enhance the platform and increase the productivity of the technology department and end users. Projects include completing the migration into the cloud (Azure and Kubernetes), enhancing its NLP capabilities, building a low code testing framework, workflow/dashboard debugging tools, instrumentation and metrics analysis, usability improvements, fitness/chaos engineering, ETL support, dynamic reporting, etc.
The engineer will work with other technologists and end users to evangelise best practices, promote the best usages of the low code development platform, and identify strategies to improve the business's capabilities.
  • Partner with functional owners to develop solutions that solve business problems or increase the productivity of the technology department. This will include gathering and validating requirements, developing the solution and delivering it to the clients. Develop solutions that are supportable, maintainable, testable, documented, and SOLID code
  • Ensure that the solutions are tested including automated unit and continuous integration tests.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the architecture and the platform
  • Help prioritise the product backlog, providing input on the most efficient strategies to deliver continuously to the business whilst not deviating from the overall strategy and architecture.
  • Bring and build knowledge of the industry and educate teams
  • Partner and collaborate with other technical teams including Infrastructure, Business Analysts, Data and Investment streams.
  • Enhance the CI/CD pipelines as part of our continual improvement's objective
  • Set a high bar and promote standards and best practices (testing, security, architecture, infrastructure, SDLC)
  • Ensure adherence to audit, information security and IT control requirements
  • Work effectively with 3rd party relationships: vendors, contractors, software providers
  • Perform administrative tasks related to the development process
  • Provide third line of support (first line being the initial support call and second line being onsite support)

Requirements:
  • Experience developing and delivering technical solutions and helping to set direction
  • Experience in one or more programming languages (eg Javascript, C#, Typescript, Python)
  • Experience in one or more testing frameworks (eg Webdriver IO/Selenium) and UI automation
  • Platform development experience desirable
  • Familiar with Cloud concepts
  • Familiar with Kubernetes
  • Familiar with databases: SQL Server, Mongo, ElasticSearch
  • Familiar with multiple frameworks/libraries/tools/concepts:

- Communication: Messaging (RabbitMQ)

- Workflows

- GUI: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, React

- Testing/CI: Testing libraries, Jenkins/Azure Devops
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge, experience and promoting design patterns and best practices
  • Experience delivering technical architectures
  • Appreciation of design and UX best practices
  • Wealth or asset management experience desirable: understanding of key packages, key competitors, key trends, best practices
