Job Summary

The European IS Risk Management team is responsible for the 2nd line of defence for IT Operational Risk. The role involves using specialist skills to provide advisory and oversight services to 1st line functions (business and IS) to assist them with their individual IT risk management and regulatory compliance activities.

The successful candidate will monitor and oversee the IT risk management practices in the 1st line and provide tools to assist in line with the global IT Risk Management Framework.

The Senior IS Risk Analyst will report to the Executive Manager - IS Risk Management and will be responsible for providing risk oversight and compliance management services as outlined below for all Canada Life companies in Europe

What You'll Do
  • Monitoring and oversight of the IT risk management practices in the 1st line.
  • Tracking and reporting on compliance with requirements of the IT Risk Management policy and regional IT Risk Management standards.
  • Providing IT Risk Management and IT General Controls subject matter expertise, knowledge, support, and assistance to both First Line IT and Second line functions across Europe.
  • Developing and providing oversight on assigned IT risk and control programs and processes including but not limited to Risk and Control Assessment (RCA), Loss Events, Risk and Control Statements, Scenario Analysis, Exceptions Management and Change Risks.
  • Analysing risk and control topics that are identified through risk management processes to identify significant risks, determine applicability and significance, and support successful remediation.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with I.S. leaders, Operational Risk teams, Corporate Risk Officers, Corporate Compliance Officers, Regulatory Affairs, Internal Auditors and External Auditors as required, both in Europe and Canada.
Who You Are

The successful candidate should ideally have:

  • Risk, compliance management and governance experience
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience
  • Risk assessment experience
  • Ability to build partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all audiences, including senior management
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Effective change management experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of I.S. practices and processes
  • Understanding of Internal Audit practices and processes
