Our client is a specialist UK and EU real estate investor and active asset manager. They are well financed and have considerable capital to deploy in the UK and European real estate markets. The Head of Real Estate Investment is seeking to hire an Investment Associate with c 3-5 years experience to work across a value add fund. The fund is sector agnostic and the main markets they look at UK, France, Germany and Spain. They tend to source deals off market only using agents on sales. This means that there will be some significant European travel, looking at potential investments and meeting investors. Candidates with French, German or Spanish language skills would be desirable but NB candidates do not necessarily need to have knowledge of EU markets, they could be focused on the UK but looking to widen their jurisdiction.

The role supports the origination, analysis, structing, documentation and execution of real estate investment opportunities and in time the successful candidate will take on increasing exposure and responsibility in the origination process.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Is involved throughout the origination, analysis, structuring, documentation and execution of real estate investment opportunities.
  • Contribute actively to the filtering of investment opportunities in the preliminary assessment phase
  • Take responsibility for managing and reviewing discreet due diligence and structuring workstreams on live transactions, which may include the management of financial, legal and technical advisers.
  • Lead the preparation of presentations of investment opportunities to the investment committee.
  • Provide other analytical, research and modelling support for the team including competitor analysis and market reviews.
  • Support asset management team in day-to-day management of certain assets including leasing activities, capex initiatives, sales and related analysis and documentation.
  • Validate fund forecast models to look at future projections for business planning, modelling of equity returns and key commercial and financial inputs (including debt facilities and further equity capital raisings).
  • Participate as required in reporting processes.


Experience, skills and qualifications
  • Direct proven relevant Real Estate knowledge and experience
  • Excellent financial modelling skills, with an eye for accuracy.
  • Analytically rigorous and detail orientated particularly with regards to numerical analysis, legal documentation and written records.
  • Able to grasp the key commercial drivers in relation to existing assets and new transactions, including what the key drivers are for value enhancement.
  • Able to synthesize complex matters effectively and concisely.
  • Have an enthusiastic and tenacious approach with a strong commitment to learning.
  • Able to manage involvement in a number of simultaneous initiatives, deliver work to agreed deadlines, and work well with a variety of individuals across a complex and evolving business.
  • Fluent in English. European languages are a plus.

Additionally, the individual understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved and any Global Policy including, inter alia, the Global Compliance Manual.

All individuals must also comply with the FCA's Conduct Rules as stated in the FCA Handbook COCON 2.1. Specifically, Individuals must comply with the following:
