VSA Capital is a full-service investment bank providing corporate finance and corporate broking services, both domestically and internationally.

VSA is a boutique investment bank employing exceptional people who provide a high quality, professional service to a diverse range of international corporate clients.

Services include advice on fundraisings on the equity capital markets (ECM), corporate broking (research and sales), private and alternative financing and M&A advisory services. We act for a diverse range of public and private companies, ensuring that a top-quality advisory and broking service is provided to them on an ongoing basis. Historically, VSA's strength has been in the natural resources sector and in recent years it has expanded into other sectors, including transitional energy, technology, leisure, support services and consumer brands.

VSA has offices in London and Shanghai and has also entered into strategic alliances with Moshe Capital in Johannesburg, South Africa, and Faida Investment Bank in Kenya, in order to leverage its respective capabilities in Sub-Saharan Africa. VSA encourages close working relationships between the international teams and the successful candidate could possibly have the opportunity to travel.

The Role

VSA is seeking to recruit a high performing individual to join its team in London as an equity research analyst. Depending on experience the candidate will lead coverage of consumer brands/leisure and/or provide support to the existing team in expanding coverage.

VSA Capital provides full research coverage for all corporate broking clients and wider market commentary through thematic pieces, podcasts and video blogs. The candidate should therefore be an accomplished writer and confident presenter.

The analyst will be key to maintaining relationships with corporate clients as well as play a hands-on role in developing and supporting the pipeline of client coverage through their corporate and industry network. The role involves significant interaction with buyside clients.

We are open to candidates with a range of prior experience although sector knowledge and a grounding in finance and accounting perhaps through a relevant degree or professional qualification are preferred.

Requirements:

The successful candidates will need to demonstrate:
  • Ambition, enthusiasm and drive;
  • Ability to take on responsibility and act with autonomy;
  • Very strong attention to detail;
  • Degree qualified or equivalent;
  • Understanding of company accounts, fundamental and relative analysis;
  • Strong financial modelling, numerical and analytical skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Practicality and commercial awareness;

In order to perform the role, the individual will be required to dedicate time outside of standard business hours on certain projects and possibly undertake occasional travel as necessary.

Compensation & Benefits:

In return, the successful candidate will expect to receive:
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience;
  • Discretionary bonuses based upon both individual performance and VSA's operating profit;
  • Equity participation through share options; and
  • Comprehensive benefits package including private health care, life insurance (4 x salary), contributory pension and 25 days holiday.

Please submit a CV and covering letter (mentioning salary expectations) CV to the Office Manager at reception@vsacapital.com.
