The Team:

This excellent opportuntiy presents itself as part of a successful Leveraged Finance team within a global investment bank who assists their clients in raising the capital necessary to grow and compete successfully and provide outstanding credit investing opportunities.

With specialized professionals in Leveraged Finance, Loan Capital Markets, High Yield Capital Markets, Project Finance and Mezzanine Finance, they provide seamless transaction execution from start to finish and the expertise to effectively position financings to the market.

The Leveraged Finance platform is an integrated, global operation with significant expertise in structuring financings across a wide spectrum of non-investment grade debt products.The team offer a full suite of debt products including first line and second line credit facilities, asset-based revolving credit facilities, high yield bonds, bridge facilities and mezzanine financing to assist clients in raising capital for acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, refinancings & recapitalizations, project financing and other purposes.

Job Description:
  • To support the deal team in the origination and execution of Leveraged Finance transactions
  • Work closely with VPs and Directors within Leveraged Finance and with other Industry & Product groups on the origination and execution of leveraged finance transactions
  • Perform and review analysis and due diligence on prospective companies and assignments, including financial modelling and comparable company analysis
  • Document and summarise the findings of research, analysis and diligence and present to senior officers and committees as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of pitch books and formal client presentations, participating in the pitches and presentations where deemed appropriate
  • Perform and oversee the completion of all administrative and control functions connected with the transaction and credit approval process
  • Key role in interacting with clients and rating agencies, negotiating documentation, overseeing the preparation of marketing materials, and co-ordinating execution and sale of debt products with the relevant distribution teams under the supervision of senior colleagues
  • Direct, supervise and coach Analysts in all aspects of their role.
  • Interact and build effective relationships with counterparts in internal and external deal teams, including clients
  • Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities

Requirements:
  • 4-6 years' prior relevant experience in a front office investment banking environment, ideally within leveraged or acquisition finance
  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree
  • Ideally have worked on left lead transactions having produced all relevant materials and having managed all transaction parties and workstreams to get to a successfully syndicated conclusion
  • Self-starter with ability to take senior client responsibility
  • Sound judgement with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Written & verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Interpersonal skills and a strong team player
  • Advanced computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • In depth knowledge of investment banking services and the ability to apply them creatively to diverse client needs
  • Understanding of the different concepts, products and rules in the current financial markets
  • Solid experience of financial modelling and credit analysis essential
  • Advantageous:
  • Professional qualification (such as CFA, ACA etc)
