Position Description:

PIMCO is searching for a Business Analyst to add to our Risk Reporting Platform Global Support Technology team. Our team develops and improves applications used globally by Account and Portfolio Management teams. You will assist in the support of these applications with our global user base as well as contribute to analysis, design, construction and enhancements.

As an analyst you will collaborate with business and technology teams to design, test and support risk and performance related systems. You will help define project objectives, scope, timelines and success criteria. The analyst will support developers in the clarification and delivery of business requirements and assist with the coordination of user acceptance testing (UAT) and software releases. You will build queries, perform data validation, and perform research on financial and risk data anomalies.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or Finance
  • 5+ years of fixed income capital markets experience. Knowledge of various instrument types and the markets in which they trade
  • SQL or PL/SQL - ability to read, write, and analyse complex SQL code
  • Conceptual understanding of databases and relational databases
  • Scripting capabilities in Python, desirable
  • You are an analytical self-starter who thrives in a demanding environment and demonstrates an understanding of financial risk concepts.
  • A highly organized individual with the willingness to be proactive about recognizing potential improvements or impending problems
  • Ability to work and communicate well - both verbally and in writing - with experienced portfolio managers and other investment professionals
  • Ability to excel in a geographically dispersed team
  • Desired qualifications:
    • Progress towards CFA designation
    • Experience working with and managing large amounts of data
