The Role:
To play a key role in originating, structuring and negotiating long income real estate transactions, throughout the UK, on behalf of c. £9bn of Long Income real estate funds.

Key Work Level Accountabilities:

Manager or Expert:

• For people managers, accountable for managing and motivating others to ensure quality of delivery to customers and stakeholders
• For technical specialists, accountable for delivering expert advice or service, using specialist knowledge and subject matter expertise
• Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk
• Manages conflicts that may impact delivery
• Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture
• Identifies and anticipates need for changes to continuously improve quality and efficiency of output
• Manages resources and risks using expert judgment, know-how and experience

Key Responsibilities for this role:

• To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.

New opportunities and transactions

• Identifying potential investment opportunities and building relationships with key stakeholders paying regard to fund objectives and relative market pricing.
• Negotiating deal structures and undertaking, instructing and reporting on due diligence, with support from internal SME's and external advisors.
• Developing and maintaining extensive, relevant business and market contacts.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Knowledge and Experience

• Significant experience in the origination, structuring and closing of long income real estate transactions, including sale and leasebacks with corporate and public sector bodies, pre-let development fundings, income strips or ground leases.
• Excellent UK market knowledge, with a strong network of contacts across a wide range of real estate sectors.
• Proven experience of building and managing complex, long-term relationships.
• Strong analytical skills with an appreciation for long term investment analysis and relative value investing.
• Significant commercial acumen and the ability to think strategically and innovatively.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Highly organised with a long-term, structured approach to origination.
• Proactive self-starter who is both persistent and patient.
• High level of credibility with well-developed influencing and negotiation skills.
• Likely to have experience in reporting to and presenting at Investment Committees or similar governance forums, with strong written and verbal reasoning skills.
• Understand and demonstrate positive behaviours and provide leadership and vision in line with M&G's corporate values.
• Client facing experience would be an advantage.

Qualifications

• RICS qualification would be an advantage, but other professional accreditations and academic backgrounds are welcome
