There will be a keen focus on wealth manager support, interviewing and questioning wealth managers to understand their USPs, specific target audiences and investment propositions, writing copy for branch websites, brochures and other materials. Copywriting for corporate messaging for promotional materials, digital channels and communications will also be required.

Copywriting should be undertaken in the context of the creative brief and the corporate brand guide under the guidance of the Marketing Manager (and the acting Managers during Marketing Manager maternity leave) and in strong collaboration with stakeholders and other team members. A working knowledge of basic design principles and Adobe design software is required.

Create and develop original content for marketing communications, digital properties and promotional material

• Conceptualise, develop and implement original fully integrated campaign ideas

• Write original copy and proofread materials to a high standard

• Apply corporate brand standards consistently

• Write in a variety of tones, styles and voices, as appropriate for the brand, medium, channel and audience

• Research subject matter using the intranet, internet, interviews with wealth managers and subject matter experts, financial publications and other sources

• Develop excellent working relationships with wealth managers and their teams, senior leadership and internal departments

• Develop investment industry and compliance knowledge to enhance insight and ability to create relevant, engaging and compliant copy

• Have a working knowledge of basic design principles and Adobe design software, so that you can do some design for materials as well as producing the copy

• Collaborate with website designers and audio/visual professionals to create, revise, format and adapt content for various media as appropriate

• Work with event organisers/production teams as needed to develop event promotional materials/collateral/directories/presentations etc. and to proof/approve event materials developed externally

• Produce scripts for video content production for a variety of audiences, according to brief

• Provide writing assistance for industry award submissions, press releases, and other projects as required

• Work with the marketing team to undertake regular audits to ensure that all messaging across corporate materials and website/s is consistent, relevant and up-to-date

• Proactively review branch websites and materials to ensure that all messaging is consistent, relevant and up-to-date

• Present copy, layout, web content and audio/visual material for wealth manager approval.

• Liaise with Compliance team for approvals of all financial promotions, as required and in accordance with agreed internal procedures

• Understanding and adherence to FCA guidelines, regulation and TCF imperatives

• Maintain library of marketing materials with awareness and implementation of relevant messaging updates as required

• Review branch financial promotions and provide marketing guidance where relevant

• Review and copy check content created elsewhere in the marketing team, providing input as needed

• Support the digital team to write copy for social media as required

• Develop an understanding of the various marketing systems, including the communication and website platforms to assist the team as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Skill in:

• Composing copy quickly, accurately and creatively that enhances end user comprehension of proposition and service

• Expressing ideas clearly and logically

• Writing in both concise, economical style and longer, more content-heavy formats

• Writing for both print and digital mediums

• Identifying strengths and opportunities in a creative brief, helping the team evolve the work beyond its initial idea

• Conducting topical research using the Internet and other resources, and incorporating results in writing assignments

• Thinking analytically, effectively interpreting and incorporating feedback and aligning creative decisions with a client's communication objectives

Specialist and Technical Knowledge

• An intermediate to advanced familiarity with copywriting styles and standards

• Excellent grammar, spelling, and composition

• Full proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

• Familiarity with Adobe and basic design software

• At least beginner investment/financial industry knowledge and a grasp of UK compliance/regulatory guidelines

ATTRIBUTES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 3 years of professional writing experience

• University degree or equivalent qualification in Marketing, English/English Literature or Journalism preferred

• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentational

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cohesively as part of a team, as well as independently

• Sound project management, administrative and organisational skills

• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a very high standard of accuracy

• Flexibility to work additional hours on occasions as and when required

• Friendly, optimistic, energetic and confident individual
